Star Trek U.S.S. Enterprise
Abrams went on to explain that he wanted his Enterprise to be a hybrid between the ships from both the film series and the TV series.

"If you're going to do Star Trek there are many things you cannot change. The Enterprise is a visual touchstone for so many people. So if you're going to do the Enterprise, it better look like the Enterprise, because otherwise, what are you doing?"

Star Trek warp-speeds into theaters on May 8, 2009.

Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

M4r10, you must not be that big of a fan of Star Trek or you too would be insulted by this Enterprise. As far as the Star Wars movies, that is no example because they did not try to remake ships that were in the movies. Now if George Lucas was to do say Star Wars 4.5 and made the Millenium Falcon more futuristic than what it was, that would be a comparison.

I agree with you goobered. From what I read about the plot of the movie, they are going to the time where Captain Pike was in charge of the Enterprise. If they wanted to get us trekkies to see the movie then they should have looked at the original pilot for the TV show to get the design specs for the Enterprise and allow us to feel a little nostalgia at seeing the original Enterprise in another adventure. Instead they are screwing it up and created this lame example of the Enterprise. Anybody who is not a real Star Trek fan would not care about this but real trekkies will care.

WOW... that's almost as bad as Enterprise-C, the ovarian class starship. Karl Urban made we want to watch this new flick. But first glance at this ship has changed my mind. With a butt-ugly ship like that...good grief that's just nasty. That is just soooo off-balanced. Enterprise-A is still the best, and this re-invention will join Enterprise-C as the nastiest looking ships in sci-fi. Roddenberry would be embarrassed.

Wow....so much hate on this page lol!
i like the picture, ive been a fan of star trek for as long as i can remember my dad was a huge fan. trutrekkie you need to calm down, the upgrade in my opinion is great make it look like its in the future, its kind like star wars 1,2,3 they have better stuff than 4,5,6 that doesnt make any sence. just my opinion.

This ship is a total insult to all of us real Star Trek fans. This ship is junk compared to the original Enterprise. Any real Star Trek fan would be insulted by the fact that Paramount is try to put this up as the original Enterprise. If they wanted to do a movie that takes place during the time when Captain Pike was in charge of the Enterprise then they should have used the original designs from the original series to recreate the Enterprise faithfully. I will not go and see this movie after seeing these pictures of the ship that they are using to impersonate the real Enterprise. I would say that all real Star Trek fans do the same and boycott this movie.

it goes either way, lots of folks are drooling over watchmen, thats cool, I personal dont care about watchmen, this looks cool, but Ive always thought Star Trek had great potential. So Im excited about the revisiojn of the series. And Im no f*g, just your typical stoner graphic designer, star wars toy collecting, video game playing dork, but Im comfortable with it.

question for cnote, if star trek is for f*gs, then wut is battlestar galactica for? kool kids? replied TheBD.

I say neither, both are just as good. One thing I hate the most is hatred toward each other, or when someone says the wrong thing. It's more of a pet peave of mine.
But when someone is attacking a good series you can tell that they are the f*g.

So because we like something you don't, That makes us f*gs? I guess there sure are alot of f*gs out there, seeing as how Star Trek is one of the most popular sci-fi series ever. I hate Battlestar Galactica, so does that make you a douchebag for having that icon? No, you being a douchebag is what makes you a douchebag. Back to the subject, I like the pic. I was never a fan of the original series, but I must admit that I really want to see this.
