Sylvester Stallone will Fight Jean-Claude Van Damme in The Expendables 2
Creator of this hard-hitting franchise, Sylvester Stallone, has also confirmed Nicolas Cage in some capacity, and he wants to get John Travolta in there too. The action icon recently chatted with EW, offering some details as to what we can expect from this epic upcoming ensemble.
About casting Jean-Claude Van Damme, Sylvester Stallone had this to say.
" We'll have a big showdown between me and Jean-Claude Van Damme, which has been anticipated for a long time, so it should be a good one."
Sly also talked more about his casting decisions for this sequel.
"We've got Chuck Norris and I think Nicolas Cage. We're trying to work out different scenarios. I like using people that had a moment and then maybe have fallen on some hard times and give them another shot. So we're always looking for actors like Michael Biehn and Michael Paré. I like those kinds of guys. Someone did it for me and I like to see if I can do it for them. We also need some new blood in there, a Navy Seal-type, because with the The Expendables none of them have 20-20 vision anymore. They need some help, man."
About casting John Travolta, Sylvester Stallone stated the following.
"It's possible. The one thing I've learned is what is a fact on Monday is a complete fallacy on Tuesday. A lot of it is scheduling. It's not financial. It's just that Bulgaria is definitely a jaunt. It's a commitment, you know what I mean? Especially in the dead of winter."
Simon West will direct from a script by Sylvester Stallone. The cast will head to Bulgaria at the end of September to begin principle photography. They are aiming for a Summer o 2012 release date.
The Expendables 2 comes to theaters August 17th, 2012 and stars Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Jean-Claude Van Damme, Chuck Norris, Jet Li. The film is directed by Simon West.

Oooooooh!! I cannot wait for this!! I love JCVD and will be sad to see him get a kicking, but this fight will be EPIC!!
I like the sound of Michael Biehn, he was kick ass in Terminator and Aliens, but Im still not keen on John Travolta!! Stick to the platform shoes Johnny, this movie is not for u lol x

I'm going to be honest, I fell asleep during the first one. I wasn't even very excited to see it in the first place, but I decided to give it a shot. I made it about 30 minutes in.
This, though, is pretty awesome. No matter how much I poke fun at Stallone, I'll always admit that his action movies are really fun to watch. I'm not completely sold yet, but this news brings me up to a "maybe".

Great news that Van Damme and Chuck Norris are confirmed for The Expendables 2.
Stallone vs Van Damme, the fight of the decade if only they were younger back in the 90's then this movie would had broke records.
It is great that these action hero legends are putting their differences aside to show those wannabe younsters who want to be action heroes that they still got it.

ha Chuck is a little to old.. his round house kicks wont be the same if he has a fight scene.. i think a cameo would be better. but thats cool about Sly and Van Damme going at it. but id prefer to see Sly and Arnold go at it though cause theyre the bigger rivals
