Sylvester Stallone to Make The Expendables

According to Variety, Sylvester Stallone will be starring and directing the action film The Expendables for Nu Image/Millennium Films.

The story is about "mercenaries on a mission to overthrow a South American dictator." Joining Stallone in this new action endeavor will be Jason Statham. Jet Li is currently in talks to be involved.

The film will shoot in February 2009 in the locales of Costa Rica and Louisiana.

    I can't wait, I have only recently heard of this film in the works, I want to be on board with the team involved. I know Sly is due to make a new spot in the film world for the next generation or movies viewers. I'm a Director/Editor getting my feet wet in the industry and I would love to have a chance to work with Stallone.

    can someone tell this guy to give it up. Rambo and Rocky 6 were good. i'll give him that. But he just needs to retire or just stick with directing. with the success for his co-stars i wouldn't even say that they want his torch, because they already have one of their own.

    man this could be an awesome way to pass the torch, ya think? It's too bad stallone is as old as he is becuase with Rambo 5 and talks of Rambo 6, he doesnt have much time to film them before he just gets too too old, to the point where we have a 70 year old running around
