IESB: Can you confirm or deny the rumors about Robotech?

IESB: That you are directing.
White: It's not a project is green lit. It's a great cult series. When it came out, I saw it in France when I was growing up - saw it in French. Its an amazing cartoon. I hope it comes to fruition. (Laughter)
IESB: So that's a yes? You are doing it?
White: I'm interested in doing it. The project is not fast tracked. There is no official thing. They sent me a draft and I liked it. It's a work in progress.
Q: Is it about the Macross saga?
W: It's the first generation.

i agree with @Illuminato and @Darkened Heart
this would be HUGE if they do it right. unfortunately there is going to be a lot of temptation to make it too campy and it could end up like that bad Freddy Prinze Jr space movie Wing Commander or all the bad parts of Transformers 2.
i've been waiting for Robotech and Voltron to go to film, but especially Robotech. and i like that it is starting at the beginning!

I just hope they get some help from the Japanese studio that relased it and created. It not I can smell it looking some what not so great like how fans of Dragon Ball and Dragon Ball Z just riped at saying this and that about it..
They studio and the director need to learn from the Japanese how they make live version of their own Anime like Deathnote. IF the director and the studio does not do that at all and go on making it themselves, I would 110% not be surpised that they rip at saying all kinds of stuff when it relesed in Japan.

This is going to be sweet, as long as they don't try to emulate Michael Bay's robot look. I want more of the look of the Avatar battle suit. Realistic looking weather wear and heavy solid metal!
