Syfy wants another Battlestar Galactica spin off
However, the network isn't saying too much about what this project will be about.
"We're looking for other ways to spin off Battlestar Galactica beyond Caprica," stated Mark Stern, Syfy executive vice president of development. "That world is so rich. We're sitting down with (executive producer) Ron Moore and his team. It would not necessarily be a traditional series."
With Syfy announcing a slew of shows this Tuesday, the media buyers on hand should get a better picture of what the network has in mind.

They could easily have a follow up series that takes place in "our" future. Meaning not the 12 colonies, but the "new Earth" that is found in the end of the 1st series. The Cylons have been gestating for the past 150,000 years and have advanced 10x fold since humans last encountered them.

I agree, it's a hard project and for this the SyFy people will have to bring it. It CAN be a great movie, as long as they make it work.

Hell yes they do! I just want some sort of semblance of the original cast of BSG. If this can happen, I think people can get really excited.

Here's the setting, BSG came out and blown us away. Caprica is just as good for being a prequel to the whole story, set before the events of the war. Really anything can be possible, though I can see where Ron is going with Caprica it's going to be another BSG in the end since he only wants to do a five season spam for each show.
It's between the years that I would mostly like for this series, like 20 years before the events of BSG or ten years, why not just have a fifteen year spam all set on either a colony or spaceship or space station. There are so many possibilities for another show.
