Paramount and DreamWorks have set December 21st on Tim Burton's musical Sweeney Todd in a limited domestic run.

The film, starring Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter, goes wide in the U.S. on January 11th. Variety says the bigscreen adaptation is of the Stephen Sondheim musical; it's currently shooting at Pinewood Studios just outside London. Sacha Baron Cohen, Alan Rickman, Laura Michelle Kelly and Jayne Wisener also star.

John Logan wrote the script for Sweeney Todd.

Sweeney Todd was released December 21st, 2007 and stars Johnny Depp, Helena Bonham Carter, Alan Rickman, Timothy Spall, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jamie Campbell Bower, Laura Michelle Kelly, Jayne Wisener. The film is directed by Tim Burton.
