Steven Spielberg Thinks Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen Is 'Awesome'

While it's still a few months away, and there is much work to be done, director Michael Bay has gotten at least one positive review so far for his next film. Bay posted a thread on his message boards where he indicates that executive producer Steven Spielberg thinks his new Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is "awesome."

Steven Spielberg sat next to me in a big 100 person theater at Sony today. There were 98 empty seats. The lights came up after we just watched my cut of Revenge of the Fallen. He turned to me and said "It's awesome". He felt this movie was better then the first - and probably my best, who knows - at this point in a movie you start to lose your objectivity. I just hope the fans like it. I'm going to start putting it in front of audiences in a few weeks - no you are not invited, yet.

We have 60 days left. Let me tell you it will be a race to finish. It's 12 at night and we are still working here in the edit room. Everyone at ILM and DD are killing themselves right now, they are doing a stellar job on the effects. We also just finished our trailer which is coming out with Wolverine. Talk to you soon.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen is set for nationwide release on June 24.

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen was released June 24th, 2009 and stars Shia LaBeouf, Megan Fox, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson, John Turturro, Ramon Rodriguez, Kevin Dunn, Julie White. The film is directed by Michael Bay.

Wow, I can't even name that many cartoon characters.

    No, Barney took his place.

Optimus isn't in it either. In fact, all the Transformers are kids show characters. Prime is Winni the Pooh, Bumblebee is Spongebob, and Starscream is Daffy Duck. Hell, they even replaced Megan Fox with Dora the Explorer and Shia is Timmy from the Fairly Odd Parents

Vis, that doesn't make sense lol. No one likes him, that's a fact sadly enough. It's not our fault HE is umm not likable to put kindly lol. I'm just sick of stupid people plaguing these topics. He's one of two people I just cannot stand. He's lucky we don't have a voting system on here. For example, no one is yelling at you or me because well, we aren't f*cking retarded lol.

I'm surprised that the Movieweb Team hasn't said anything to Newkill yet. He seems to curse and start something on every comment that he posts as if he is trying to get deleted.

Anyway, of course Spielberg is going to say it's awesome. He's the executive producer, so he's naturally gonna say that. But I'm pretty sure it is awesome, too. And I trust Spielberg because he's one of the best directors of all time and he knew what he was doing when he wanted Michael Bay to direct the Transformers franchise.

Newkill, or killerman, whatever your name is, seriously, please delete your account. Not for me, but for everyone, including yourself. You can't even say anything intelligent nor do you ever make actual points about movies. For example, if this thread had a voting system on whether they agree with the crazy sh*t that you say or the other people who say less crazy sh*t, I'd think you'd be screwed my friend. I'm suprised MW hasn't banned you again already. It's not your terrible taste in movies that bothers us the most killerman, it's the fact that you act like a completely f*cking douche farm to people about it. I'm pretty sure no one on here likes you or your stupid insults. You have no respect for yourself or others. Hell, your insults could even use a little work. At least re-read them after you post them so they look okay lol. Stop embarassing yourself and fighting with everyone digging yourself a hole. It's pointless. Next you'll be telling us you hate Einstein for some reason lol. Seriously man, give it up. Hope this helps so you understand what's up against you. Just chill out and you don't get banned, again.

Thanks J.A.. I'm glad you and zz share my opinion. YESS! Zz I agree. Prestige was literally the best Nolan movie, TDK is oh so close behind it.

Of course Spielberg thinks this movie is awesome, it 100 times better than that piece of sh*t Crystal Skull.

Just take no notice off Newkill, people. His just a bloody sad attention seeker, with no life.
If you show him no attention, he hates it, lol its actually funny when you do ignore him I.E because he is an attention seeking prick, it actually annoys him more.

All he does is feed off attention, he loves it and enjoys it, because he is an INDY BUMRAIDER.

I'm gonna take a wild guess that the reply that i receive back from Newkill, will be about me being sad or a loser, claiming i'm someone i'm not, probably involve f*cking someone, because lets face it NewKill doesn't know what p*ssy looks like he thinks p*ssy is fluffy, chases yawn and purrs when you stroke it.

What shall i do Newkill, change my avatar....

    I know i got it....Dum Dum Dummmmmm......

I'LL WRITE A REVIEW SAYING NEWKILL GTFO

Yep that's the one. LOL, Zz i couldn't have put that better my self. Prestige was more awesome than the other 2. And is my favourite Nolan film alongside TDK.
Did you know that the illness that Guy Pearce's caracter has in Memento is actually the most accurate portrayal of that illness ever brought to screen, i thought that was a cool neat little touch, making it realistic and accurate as possible according to the illness he suffered.
It was also based off a short story written by Johnathan Nolan

  24. ZanyZap

I believe it was called Following J.A. and it was decent. I also agree with your summation of his other three films. Though, I'd give The Prestige, my personal Nolan-favorite, a "Double Awesome..." :)

Movieweb please delete Newkill. Your only hurting yourselves by letting someone like him continue to post on here. If you allow this kind of behavior to consistently persist, I will delete my account and get my news elsewhere. I, and others who can actually form sentences and raise constructive criticisms, should not have to tolerate the ridiculous rantings of someone like Newkill.

Also LMAO at Killah's WWJW comment.

Fallen you nailed Nolan right on the spot, Insomnia (average), Memento (awesome), Prestige (awesome).
Have you seen his first film that was alright as well?

I forgot what it was called, but it was low-budge and filmed on weekends with Nolan and a couple of his friends.

Also sidenote, Spielberg did revolutionise the movie industry especially in the Sci-Fo genre, he brought us the concept that people from outer space can be good and not evil as they were portrayed before Close Encounters & E.T.
Also don't forget Spielberg brought us Dreamworks Studios, lets not forget his the CEO/founder of the company

    LIKELY SCENARIO:

After watching the film, Spielburg looks into Michael Bay's puerile eyes, and says "Well Mike, it's not terrible..."

Michael Bay leaves the theater, his mind registering one of the few words in his minimal vocabulary: "Awesome!" (alongside "BOOM" and "BANG," of course). He turns to the crew. "He loved it..."

In the background Spielburg rolls his eyes. "That's why I'm executive producer..."

    4 years agoby @zanyzapFlag

  28. ZanyZap

Though (in my opinion; I don't need a pointless argument) Spielburg is one of the best directors working today, him saying the movie is "awesome" will not provoke the snoopy dance out of me, nor heighten my anticipation. My excitement stays the same; I'll evaluate it myself Mr. Spielburg

  29. J.A.Ottley.Writer / Director

LMAO figures why this article has so many comments, another dumb ass argument.

Ok note to all of the dumbasses (no names given). EVERY DIRECTOR HAS THEIR BAD FILM & GOOD FILM, THEIR SO CALLED UPS AND DOWNS, THE GOOD POINTS AND THE BAD POINTS.
BUT SOME HAVE MORE BAD THAN GOOD AND VICE VERSA.

Right Steven Spielberg, would think this is awesome because his an exec producer, its a publicity stunt, for them to say that the most highliest praised director has stated T2: ROTF is awesome, but yet we all knew that, because no one tops Bay when it comes to over-the top extravagant popcorn action sequences.

Also it looks like this nice publicity stunt may have just gave some profit for Wolverine after its diaster of being leaked on the net.

OH BTW ROTFLMAO @ PYPEBOMB'S COMMENT BELOW
