George Clooney and Noah Wyle in contention for the Steve Jobs biopic
Sony is fast-tracking the biopic, with an eye to start production sometime next year. We reported in October that Sony wants Oscar-winning screenwriter Aaron Sorkin (The Social Network) to write the script. We haven't heard yet if Aaron Sorkin has agreed to come aboard this project yet or not.
Noah Wyle previously portrayed Steve Jobs in the 1999 TNT TV movie Pirates of Silicon Valley. Both Noah Wyle and George Clooney starred on the hit NBC medical drama ER together.
Steve Jobs comes to theaters in 2013.

@insertusernamehere At first I thought Wyle, but then I read your comment and completely agree. Now that I can see Norton as Jobs, I can't see Wyle as him anymore.

Noah Wyle, if they have to make this film. Don't like George Clooney.

Noah Wyle over George Clooney. I just can't see him as Steve Jobs.

Why not just get the entire ER cast in it and have George do a miracle of some sort.

Noah Wyle for sure. You could even consider it a "De-Facto" sequel to "Pirates of Silicon Valley". All they need now is to get Anthony Michael Hall to portray Bill Gates again and we're rocking.

I can see Clooney in the role. Edward Norton suits it better, though, I think. I've also thought Ryan Gosling could do it justice.

Noah Wyle has already portrayed him, why not have him do it again I guess!

If they're doing a film about his whole life, then Wylie should be the pick.

Wow they are both awful choices..... I thought the top contender would be Paul Giamatti

George Clooney is a horrible choice. As great an actor as he is, he's the last person anyone would want for a biopic -- unless he's playing himself, which he's proven he's pretty good at, lol.
