Steve Carell Is Despicable Me

According to Variety, Chris Meledandri, the president of Universal Pictures Illumination Entertainment will be producing the 3-D CG-animated Despicable Me for the new division.

Steve Carell will be voicing the main character along with Jason Segel, Kristen Wiig, Will Arnett, Danny McBride, Russell Brand, Jemaine Clement, Jack McBrayer and Julie Andrews.

Carell will be playing the unsavory Groo. He tries to steal the moon only to have his plan upended by three orphan girls.

Directing will be Chris Renaud, Pierre Coffin and Sergio Pablos. The screenplay was written by Cinco Paul and Ken Daurio.

Despicable Me should be released in 2010 from Universal Pictures.

    you know, i just cant seem to enjoy any movies carell has done. im a big fan of the office, but i cant stand any of his films, other than anchorman and 40 year old virgin.
