Steve Carell in talks to join Great Hope Springs
The story centers on a married couple of 31 years who have lost the spark in their marriage. They escape for a weekend therapy trip to try and rekindle their love for one another. Steve Carell will play Dr. Feld, their marriage doctor, while Meryl Streep will play the wife. The husband hasn't been cast yet, but it is believed that role will be filled in the very near future.
David Frankel will direct from a script by Vanessa Taylor. Nathan Kahane will executive produce for Mandate Pictures along with Jason Blumenthal and Steve Tisch.
Production will start on Great Hope Springs in August.
Hope Springs was released August 10th, 2012 and stars Meryl Streep, Tommy Lee Jones, Steve Carell, Jean Smart, Ben Rappaport, Marin Ireland, Patch Darragh, Brett Rice. The film is directed by David Frankel.
