Steven Spielberg discusses Robopocalypse
"It's a movie about a global war between man and machine. I had a great time creating the future on Minority Report, and it's a future that is coming true faster than any of us thought it would. Robopocalypse takes place in 15 or 20 years, so it'll be another future we can relate to. It's about the consequences of creating technologies which make our lives easier, and what happens when that technology becomes smarter than we are. It's not the newest theme, it's been done throughout science fiction, but it's a theme that becomes more relevant every year."
Robopocalypse is based on the Daniel H. Wilson novel, which is being adapted by Drew Goddard. The story centers on the human race trying to survive a global robot uprising. It is believed that Robopocalypse will start shooting sometime later this year.
Robopocalypse is in development and stars Chris Hemsworth, Anne Hathaway, Ben Whishaw. The film is directed by Steven Spielberg.

@felipe-11 Especially when 15 years rolls around and I am still pumping gas into my sh*tty Honda at the nearest Shell station.

I understand the logic of setting a sci-fi pic in a very short 15-20 year future to make it seem "closer than we think", but honestly it's always a turn-off for me. 50 years seams like the minimum for me.
