James Cameron is currently shooting his latest film in Los Angeles. According to Variety, his motion capture project entitled Avatar has picked up a couple of actors. Both Stephen Lang and Michelle Rodriguez are gearing up for a couple of months spent in front of that green screen.

Sam Worthington, Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, Wes Studi and CCH Pounder are already hard at work on the project. Lang will play a marine who must travel to a distant planet to take control of his wayward troops. Rodriguez is playing an ex-marine pilot.

Cameron stated, "Michelle Rodriguez is someone I've wanted to work with since I saw Girlfight seven years ago."

Avatar is being filmed in a new digital 3-D format. It will open May 22nd, 2009.

Girlfight was released October 1st, 2000 and stars Michelle Rodriguez, Jaime Tirelli, Paul Calderon, Santiago Douglas, Ray Santiago, Víctor Sierra, Elisa Bocanegra, Shannon Walker Williams. The film is directed by Karyn Kusama.
