Stephen King's Haven Goes to Syfy

Stephen King's novella The Colorado Kid has been picked up by the Syfy channel for an initial thirteen episode series run entitled Haven. According to Variety, this will be the first Syfy project produced exclusively for the cable channel's global outlets due to the fact that Universal Networks Intl. had already signed on to co-fiance the project.

Haven will follow the inhabitants of a spooky town in Maine who are cursed and forced to live in exile. When their curses start to return, FBI agent Audrey Parker is sent in to keep the supernatural forces from escaping. All the while, she will attempt to uncover the mysteries behind these evil curses.

Sam Ernst and Jim Dunn are writing the pilot episode. The show will premiere in late 2010 or early 2011.

Well, "The Dead Zone" didn't stink (except for the the last season, that is). Maybe this one will do okay. I'll at least give it a chance.
