Stephen Chow Is Kato in The Green Hornet!

Movie Picture
Seth Rogen has finally gotten his man. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Rogen has long wanted Stephen Chow to be apart of his upcoming The Green Hornet adaptation, and now the legendary Asian actor has not only signed on to play Kato, but he will also direct the film.

The film will be shot in the style of Chow's classic martial arts masterpiece Kung Fu Hustle. It will be sort of a Looney Tunes meets Black Belt Theatre update of the classic 1966 TV show. Martial Arts master Bruce Lee originally portrayed Kato in the original series.

The film will be release on June 25th, 2010.

This is awesome news. Kung Fu Hustle is one of my favorites and his style of filmmaking will work with Rogans Green Hornet. Sounds perfect.

Looks like another Flop coming. They should make it more like the Dark Knight instead of some funny guy character. Jet Li should be playing this role.

A great choice, but I hope he finishes production on Kung Fu Hustle 2 first. Sorry, just not a big enough fan of the Green Hornet.

Guess it could work in that style if done right. Look at The Mask with Jim Carrey. Comedy with a little looney tunes put in but you still had the guns and bullets and action. Have to wait and see to make a full judgement.

if anything like kung fu hustle or shaolin soccer.. the movie will be amazing.. not to keen on Seth rogen.. he can only act in one dimension.. almost like nicolas cage..but if they are making it lonney tunesesque,he'll do fine.. V2K.. you have never heard of stephen chow?? where do you live man??? Chow is probably the most talented person in film today.. the guy can work on both sides of the camera.

If this movie didn't have Seth Rogen, I'd consider it..... Other than that, I've never heard of Stephen Chow, so we'll just see how this works itself out.

Not sure bout this 1. i mean Stephen chow is an awsome director. but this is the role that pretty much introduced the legend of Bruce Lee to America.granted the show was a campy rip off of the 60's batman tv show, t still intoduced us to the dragon.
