Stellan Skarsgård has joined Marvel Studios' Thor, reported the Swedish news site Ystads Allehanda.

Stellan Skarsgård is ready for a role in action movie Thor.

Everything is still secret about the project and Skarsgård can not reveal what role he will play.

"They wanted me to sign without reading the script. That I refused to do. Then they sent one to me that was so coded that I could only print one copy," said Stellan Skarsgård.


Set for release May 20, 2011, the Paramount Pictures comic book adaptation will be directed by Kenneth Branagh. The film stars Chris Hemsworth, Tom Hiddleston, Natalie Portman, Jaimie Alexander, Colm Feore and Samuel L. Jackson.

This epic adventure spans the Marvel Universe; from present day Earth to the realm of Asgard. At the center of the story is The Mighty Thor, a powerful but arrogant warrior whose reckless actions reignite an ancient war. Thor is cast down to Earth and forced to live among humans as punishment. Once here, Thor learns what it takes to be a true hero when the most dangerous villain of his world sends the darkest forces of Asgard to invade Earth.

Thor was released May 6th, 2011 and stars Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Anthony Hopkins, Stellan SkarsgÄrd, Kat Dennings, Clark Gregg, Idris Elba. The film is directed by Kenneth Branagh.

    I'm with Chad and Raoul. Too far away, and he is a good actor. This movie is going to kick ass. Not sure on Thor's casting still, but the rest of the cast seems great.
