Deadline reports that the Syfy series Stargate Universe has been canceled after two seasons.

Syfy recently finished airing the first part of the show's second season and the final 10 episodes will debut sometime next spring. We reported at the end of October that Syfy canceled its Battlestar Galactica prequel series Caprica after just one season.

Stargate Universe was the latest in the Stargate TV franchise which included Stargate SG-1 and Stargate: Atlantis. Stargate Universe starred Robert Carlyle, Justin Louis, Brian J. Smith, Elyse Levesque, David Blue, Alaina Huffman and Jamil Walker Smith.

Syfy's current slate of original programming includes Warehouse 13, Eureka and Haven, with Being Human debuting on January 17. Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome will also air sometime next year on Syfy.

I liked it when the crew started to used the Gate a bit more. It's the main purpose of the franchise, I would rather see four travelers going to different worlds, make new enemies and friends, but return to earth every fourth episode or so.
It should be called SG: SG-2

I really enjoyed it, it just lacked in a few things. The military aspect o fit was gone, it felt a lot like BSG and not enough SG.
Yes, I'm annoyed as hell about this but the team will continue with another series. At least Sanctuary will be getting a bit more attention since it's also with the same studio.
Actually, it would be interesting to see that develop a bit more.
I would love to see feature films of all three series, not DVD movies. The last SG1 film didn't seem right to me, it felt more like an episode.

I hope this doesn't ruin the chances of the "SG-1" and "Atlantis" DVD movies getting made.

I actually liked this show a lot. Kind of had too much of a BSG feel for me though. Sad to see the Stargate franchise end. I grew up watching the movie/shows.
