Star Wars Live-Action TV Series Begins Casting?

It seems that George Lucas is continuing his legendary saga with a new live-action small-screen series. MTV Movies Blog caught up with actress Rose Byrne, while promoting her upcoming film Knowing, and she revealed that casting is under way for a new Star Wars live-action TV series.

"A lot of my friends have been auditioning for it," Byrne revealed. Word on the series first started in 2005 when Lucas revealed the desire for a live-action TV show, and in 2007, Lucas revealed he had started writing scripts for the series. The series is said to be set in the time period between Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith and Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope and will focus on minor characters from the film saga and will deal with the Rebel Alliance as they build up their strength against the Empire.

LucasFilms has not confirmed the news as of yet, but we'll certainly keep you posted on any and all news coming forth regarding this new TV series. Click Here! to read more about this new TV endeavor for Lucas.

indeed. apparently whininess is a genetic predisposition, and anakin was a master.

True. But so far, Anakin is by far the biggest whiner of all six movies. I couldn't stand him anymore 1/4 of the way through episode III.

...and whining, don't forget about the constant tedious odious mind-splitting whining, that was kind of his thing before he became a jedi.

Is this thing actually going to happen or what? Originally, they said it was going to be on TV by ... maybe last year? But they keep on delaying it so much that it feels like it won't ever see the light of day.

Indeed. All we would have to look forward with that storyline is Luke flying around in his T-16 annihilating womp-rats all day or farming. LOL

whatever man, im not going to sit here and pretend like i won't at least check it out.

at least it's not a show about luke growing up as a whiny youth in the years before his fateful meeting with r2d2 and c3po. that would be much worse.

What the bloody hell is this load of bullocks?! I thought he said it was going to be post-Episode VI!!! Is he expecting us to accept another "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" tragedy?!

That's it. I need to get this off my chest...

"Thank you, George Lucas. Thank you for abandoning us TRUE Star Wars fans. Those of us who stuck with you through thick and thin. Those of us who grew up with the original trilogy. Thank you for exploiting our interests with the horrific abomination that was the prequel trilogy. Thank you for backstabbing us with The Clone Wars. Thank you for completely betraying us, the loyal fans, who threw our money at you and got you to the level of monetary gain that you are at today. You're a real piece of work, you bugger (and I mean that in the original context as sheep f***er).

STOP IT WITH THE PREQUEL AND IN-BETWEEN-EPISODES-III-AND-IV BULLS***!!! STOP ABANDONING THE TRUE, GOOD STAR WARS MOVIES!!! THE ORIGINAL TRILOGY!!!

this could be good if they don't make a mockery of it like they have with some of this junk being released. I agree - either Knights of the Old Republic or maybe even an Apprentice arc like in The Force Unleashed. I do like the idea of a rebellion build up, but the problem is in Episode IV there wasn't much of a rebellion there to begin with. So I dunno... we'll see how it goes. I just hope George Lucas gets some help with the scripts - I can't take any more hokey jokes (like the "I'm not going in there with the Jedi - are you brain dead?" line from Episode I).

I agree. I want to see the Knights of the Old Republic stories brought to life

Why don't don't they just give us
    Knights Of The Old Republic
    &
    Boba/Jango Fett (spin-off movies)

And let Star Wars live it's legacy in fan-hailed glory, nlike Clone Wars, that film sucked so bad, my cinema didn't even play it and its owned by Lucas's company

only have one thing to say. DONT F*CK WITH THE CLASSICS. Cause that is all this show would do. That's the problem with all these people in hollywood they have nothing left for idea's so what do they do.Re-milk the same cow over and over. Come on look at all these reboots and this is what your gonna do with the Star War franchise turn it into a f*cking t.v. show. Get some creativity back into those small brains of yours and write something good. How about this not even good how about decent.
