The Narrator: The Better Man
@moviegeek, agreed. It seems everyone's so busy bitching about something we all so coming, to at least give the art-work the time of day. :P

someone who's a big fan of this would get this set for sure!. but any other person who just likes the newer films or the older 1s would be better off getting them separately. Since they will all be sold as singled films too. I heard that 4 5 and 6 would b getting rebooted so they could look and feel more like 1 2 and 3, For sum reason i loved the newer 1s way more than the old 1s, maybe cause theres more action, detailed and better back story to them, but alot of u will disagree w me on that and say that the old 1s r 1000x better, but.. to each their own!

here's what they should've done:
Disc 1- Star Wars ep. I-III
Disc 2- Star Wars ep. IV-VI Spec.Ed
Disc 3- Star Wars ep. IV-VI Original versions
Disc 4- Star Wars Saga (I-VI) bonus features INCLUDING the Holiday Special :)
Saves money and limits number of discs from 9 to 4!

@jasonkat - That's the whole point......that why so many people are so pissed. Not because they "forgot" to include the original versions but rather because George Lucas is INTENTIONALLY withholding them. He doesn't want people watching the originals because they are not his "preferred" version of the film......even though they are most people's favorite!!
.... (Not to mention the fact that that talentless, fat sack of sh*t only directed one of the original three....so they are not even his movies to take away).
Therefore, he is treating the rest of society like a bunch of grounded ten year olds, sending us to our room and not allowing us to watch the movie we want to watch. Its absurd!!! That's how childish and, dare I say, mentally disturbed George Lucas really is. He's a punk bitch who thinks it's either his way......or no way.
The thing is, I dont care if he includes the Special editions and the limited editions and the extended limited editions or whatever other version he comes up with to further destroy these films........what pisses me off is that he is denying me the one version that I DO want to watch. The versions I grew up with.
so yes, he should have included the original versions considering there is more than enough space on a 50 gb disc to include all three versions of the films.....but he didn't......because he sucks.
Therefore, I refuse to purchase this disgrace of a release.
And as for the rest of you people who are looking forward to this......I guess you like being treated like a "grounded" ten year old.

I dont mean to knock-on the die-hard lovers here. i know alot of u would perfer original over anything else, personally im not 1 of those and any re-cut, re-edit or extended version would do 4 me, however on the other hand since this is blu-ray and they say it can hold alot of data on a single blu-ray disc, i dont c why they couldnt have made it like Avatar's collector's edition, where as it has the "original theatrical, special edition and........ re-releases version. There4, Lucas should have learned sumthing from that box set, I know that would have been a MUST have for alot of star wars fans,

K-Man
@mixlexic - I'm glad somebody is with me on that! If more people were to refuse purchase of this boxset maybe then George "I'm a greedy piece of sh*t, my way or no way" Lucas would finally be forced into releasing those theatrical versions. The versions that virtually define my childhood movie-going experience...... Not this Special Edition crap with all the adjustments that literally ruin the movies for me.

I agree with @jasonkat. I love both Original and Special Edition versions. IDK why Star Wars fans complain so much about the SpecEd. when other extended cuts like Aliens and LOTR are praised and loved by fans like me. It's almost like Star Wars is sacred and u can't deface them. They should make SpecEd of the prequels by taking Jar Jar out. Seriously, when i was 6 I loved Jar Jar! I dressed up as him for Halloween, had Jar Jar shaped puzzle sets, even my B-day cake with him on it! lol! but now being 18 and watching ep.I, he is so annoying! Plus @mixlexic is right: if you already have the seperate trilogy DVD sets, don't buy this! the DVDs look great on the blu-ray player anyways.

I've debated in my mind if I want to waste money on this.... nah. I'll wait to see if they ever give us new movies instead of the same 6 repackaged and repackaged and repackaged.

@jasonkat @superman81 I think a lot of fans myself included believe the special edition additions ruined the movies to some degree. Greedo shooting first the awful CGI Jabba etc. (The jabba scene should have remained an excellent deleted scene).
Don't get me wrong the Special editions look and sound wonderful and even more so in HD
I think its the Special Additions that cause the moans.
and JasonKat your right" just watch the DVD u have" I personally don't like a lot of Lucas' "Improvements" so I wont be purchasing the Blu ray.
P.S. If I get it for Christmas I won't be complaining

@jasonkat I couldn't agree more!! I never find myself saying hmmm maybe i should get the toned down, cut down theater version. I always go for the uncut unrated version. Most of the time the theater version isnt the best. U can't please everyone and they are all going to bitch. Besides who wants theater versions on blu-ray?? Just watch the dvd u have.

Can sumbody tell me why they would even bbitch over not including the theatrical version? i mean when i buy my movies, i always go for the uncut, unrated, or director's cut, version. not the theatrical version, So really why all the blabing, who cares, ur getting more movie scenes, if not, they r just deleting the crappy parts u dont really need.

@heir-of-isildur0 As a Star Wars fan, I'm not so sure if there are worse movies out there, and I've seen a LOT of bad movies, but nothing angered me as much as the sloppy work from Lucas concerning the prequels. I just assume that being young, and hungry (not to mention restricted by other, more powerful people) led Lucas to make something brilliant, whereas being old and fat and powerful meant he could get away with Star Wars 1-3.

i find it funny as hell that this only has 2 stars stating the facts that ALOT of die hard fans would kill for such a set. and its getting bad reviews, why? cause all of u already own the dvd set and ur pissed cause now u wish u hadnt bought them so u can buy blu ray instead pk? well tobad, lol deal w it, grab it when it comes out, or just stfu and enjoy ur dvd set, hehe

You guys crack me up. As far as that Xmas special of course its awful it should be in the spoof section like that's necessary to begin with...My point was there's more than enuff room for everything good or bad and should be included. There's many that would want to complete these sets. Don't yell at me. LOL. Look at the main SW site and many are complaining about Empire of Dreams not being there as here. Also I used to work at the old conventions before they were called these Mega-Cons and all this stuff was available on VHS before DVD was created. So for me there's nothing really new. But yet it's great to have on BR. Main point is whatever is leftover will be on yet another set. That's all. Jeez like this is a religion or something. It's just a great trilogy bundled with a really bad trilogy.
So padewans a sense of humour you must have......lol

I can't wait to own this on blu-ray. And all Haters on here bashing Lucas, here is a tip. Don't buy it!!! He can't milk u dry as u claim if u don't spend ur money on it now can he?? I'm a huge star wars fan and I want this collection. True star wars fans are the best. All the rest shouldn't even pretend to be.

@furankisan Do you REALLY want the Holiday Special on Blu-ray? Is it really all that necessary? Because, honestly, I think people would just go on about how much Lucas has ripped them off more if the Holiday Special by giving them what they don't want.
