Trekkies will be excited to know that George Takei will be making a cameo appearance in Lost creator JJ Abram's 2008 Star Trek. According to the latest issue of Starburst magazine, Takei will reprise his roll for a flash forward scene which will include Leonard Nimoy's, Spock.

He will join the cast of a few alum (William Shatner supposedly not included) as well as Trekkie newcomers, Simon Pegg and Winona Ryder.

The eleventh chapter in the Star Trek series is set to release on Christmas day.

Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.
