Just a snazzy teaser trailer. Speaking of trailers, that's the best I've seen for a "teaser" for the new Indy flick. More than I expected. I hope it was enough for most who complained beforehand. Hahahah.

  8. They call me ITCHY BALLS

I bet it had something to do with the writer's strike. Maybe they didn't even have a script yet! Hahahah.

Good decision by Paramount. It sucks we have to longer then expected to see it, but it will be a bigger box office draw during the summer!!

Think about this seti173: the teaser comes out, the responses indicate what the fan's expect from the movie, JJ Abrams sees that as an indication of changes he can make, and decides to edit the movie up a little bit, maybe add things, disinclude them, or even lay ground for a sequel/take away indications of a definite sequel.
Or, most likely, they just want to make more money. Movies released in summer, even bad ones, make exponentially more.

May...June...whatever. May's pretty much Summer in terms of "Summer Releases" no? ;)

But seriously, the WGA deal could have had some impact here, but with Start Trek, wouldn't the script have been already completed prior to production, which began prior to October 2007?

    Just a thought..

hmm... i dont feel like checking the calendar, off hand, but im pretty sure may is still spring...

i like the re-working the script theory (from mavinx), now that the strike is over, that just seems to make sense to me.

"Must be fallout from Clover-f*ck hype. Nerds going crazy over the trailer and all that."

WTF? That makes no sense. If everyone was going crazy (nerds and (non-nerds?) alike) for the trailer, the studio would actually move the picture UP (to Thanksgiving, for example) rather than move it back five months.

The fact that they're moving it to a summer release date, IF ANYTHING means the initial reaction from the trailer or publicity was luke-warm..

I call bullsh*t on the 'summer potential' as the reason. Obviously all these scripts sucked and needed some work which can now be done since the strike is over.

I've never seen a Star Trek episode, but I'll keep waiting for this movie.

My guess is Paramount realized they had no "tentpole" movie for 2009 and thus the change.

Oh well. Hopefully those 5 extra month will help them make it a better movie, 'cause right now I'm not convinced it's going to be any good at all.
Then again I felt the same way about "Indy 4" and I just saw the new trailer, so now I can't wait to see it!

David Fincher is making a film called "The Curious Case of Benjamin Button"? What kind of title is that? Sound like some kind of lame kids movie or the cousin to Peter Cottontail.

If it were coming out next week and then all of a sudden got moved to 2009 I would be pissed but both dates are a long ways off so no big deal...Seems a better fit for a summer release anyway...
