I'm getting a Eugenics Wars vibe to this. But I could be wrong.

I am really excited to see this but really, that sounds terribly generic. I know they cant be too revealing at this point though.

One thing that made Abrams' film work so well was that the stakes were high. This one looks to make them even higher. I am really excited for this.

@narrator Well that's definitely understandable. I haven't seen the first movie in quite a while (funny story, Kirk's test scene sparked a new-found apple-eating phase in me :P) so I can't really recall the particulars of it. But I'm sure it'll be similar to the first outing.

Anyone think Gary Mitchell will have a pivotal role in this as the "force of terror from within their own organization"?

@ghostman -- I wasn't referring to his past films, but the last Star Trek. But, now that I think about it, his films are, too. That's not entirely bad, though.

@narrator I agree with you, but I'm sure we'll be dazzled by the lens flare to not notice the cliches.
(actually, I always dig on Abrams movies, flaws n all)

the Narrator
Lol, @the-movieghost. I knew I was going to be called on my comment the second it was posted. It might as well be by you. Don't misunderstand me now. I don't expect a whole lot from this film, aside from excellent entertainment value and a few nerdgasm moments, much like it's predecessor. Rather, it was the way they worded this summary that made it sound all "meh" to me. Particularly the last paragraph - that's practically the summary of almost every generic adventure/action film out there (sans the Kirk part).

One Man WMD sounds interesting, if he can, by himself, destroy thousands of people. I hope its not another Red Matter situation.
