Star Trek 2 starting pre-production next year
"I spoke to J.J. and Bryan Burk, his producing partner at Bad Robot, and they are still in the middle of building the script with Alex Kurtzman and Bob Orci, and we'll probably be going into pre-production around this time next year."
There has been no word yet on when the film might start shooting, but we'll certainly keep you posted on all Star Trek 2 news as soon as we have more information.
Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.
Star Trek Into Darkness was released May 17th, 2013 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anton Yelchin. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

I would love to see the Klingons brought fully into the next film as they looked great in the deleted scene on the Star Trek dvd, or the Khan storyline from the original series with a twist.

Mess with the future? JJ and his writers were so damn brilliant in starting fresh, BUT without remaking what Trek fans know and love. Anything is possible now! And that's one of the appeals of this new series

how are they going to fix it? go back in time and change the first film?? The whole reason they had the time traveling was to change the future as we know it. anything is possible. it didnt "mess up the future, but made in unknown. which jj did perfectly to create and entirely new franchise. cant wait for the second film.
