Zachary Quinto gives Star Trek 2 script update
Now, actor Zachary Quinto, who plays the iconic Vulcan Spock in this alternate timeline based subsection of the franchise, has crept past craft services to reveal that the screenplay, by trio Alex Kurtzman, Roberto Orci, and Damon Lindelof, is in a constant state of evolution. And that he wasn't allowed to know the storyline until late December, just weeks before shooting began.
Here is what Zachary Quinto had to say about Star Trek 2.
"It was the middle of December and finally I had to be like, 'We need to read the script!' They waiting a pretty long time, but that's because they were working on it. There was a writer's strike the first time so they weren't able to let the script evolve. Now it's really changing, on a regular basis."
Zachary Quinto remains optimistic about this sequel, even though the script isn't completely locked in as they shoot.
"It's been really great. We've been shooting for a week and a half and it's been an incredible return to that world."
The actor behind Spock even offered a few encouraging words about all of the new additions to this ensemble cast.
"All of them have folded in so beautifully and brought a whole new level of intelligence and sensitivity."
Star Trek Into Darkness was released May 17th, 2013 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, John Cho, Benedict Cumberbatch, Anton Yelchin. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

I don't know I worry about a movie that hasn't got its script prepared and is already shooting - I could be wrong I'm not an actor, but isn't that sort of like ordering food from a restaurant that's not even sure what's on the menu? And while you're sitting there the menu keeps evolving from Mexican food, to Japanese food, to burgers and fries, to Thai food? lol.
