Star Trek 11 to Begin Filming in November

SCI FI Wire caught up with screenwriter partners Roberto Orci and Alex Kurtzman, who revealed that have finished the script for Star Trek (a.k.a. Star Trek 11) and are currently in preproduction on the movie. J.J. Adams will direct the film which will go into production in November.

Orci said they are still casting for the movie and would not reveal anything about the plot, although he did say that "Kirk is in the movie ... Some kind of Kirk. ... We literally haven't cast them yet. It's actually one of the challenges, and so we're hoping to have something by Comic-Con [in San Diego in July], but we'll see."

As for rumors that Matt Damon is in line for Kirk or Adrien Brody for Spock, SCI FI Wire states that Orci would only smile. "I've read all those rumors, too."

Star Trek was released May 8th, 2009 and stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Leonard Nimoy, Eric Bana, Bruce Greenwood, Karl Urban, Zoe Saldana, Simon Pegg. The film is directed by J.J. Abrams.

I agree Movie Guy, this is going to fall as short as the previous movies. Its time to start fresh, new characters, new everything..... or just stop, leave it as is and move on to something else.

I'M SORRY BUT THIS IS GOING TO BE COMPLETE FAILURE. I LOVE STAR TREK AND ALL OF ITS INCARNATIONS BUT GOING BACK WON'T HELP THIS FRANCHISE...IF I'M WRONG, I'LL EAT MY WORDS.
