Spider-Man Update from Andrew Garfield

Andrew Garfield offers updates from the Spider-Man reboot production
The Guardian recently spoke with Spider-Man 2.0 star Andrew Garfield during the production's Christmas break. Here's what he had to say about the adventure so far:

"We started shooting two weeks ago and then we have Christmas off. Then we're back into it for, gosh, I'm sure a fair bit of time. With this, it feels like I'm going to have to hibernate into this character for at least four or five months."

When asked his impressions about the Spider-Man suit, he remarked that he felt like a kid again:

"I feel like a kid in my pajamas. I can only say how it feels and it feels pretty special. It feels like a dream realized and a fantasy realized. Again, I don't take it lightly and I feel very, very lucky that I get to wear spandex for the next couple of months."

The actor also spoke about the physical balance of the role, whereas Spider-Man is a strong superhero but Peter Parker is just a boy:

"I think Spider-Man needs strength, but Peter Parker is still a teenager, you know? That's a very tender balance to figure out. It's very specific what we're trying to achieve in terms of body type and the feeling of that. Rest assured, there's a lot of people helping me with that because I have no discipline in that respect. My father's a swimming coach and I kind of rebelled against that very early on. Any kind form of physical discipline has to be cracked with a pretty firm whip."

I expect him to be great in this first movie. After that, however, I'm not so sure.

Sad ...that Andrew Garfield goes from "The Social Network" to some damn reboot .... I guess he either needs to be seen in Hollywood or needs a paycheck and can't fine something new and fresh!!!

Spidey NEEDS a remake; he's an icon who will always, in some way, be on the big screen. Plus, like other icons (Bond for example), he's a cashwore! The Raimi version was good while it lasted, but it lost its flair with three - people grew tired of Maguire's Parker. I did. Spider-Man required a make-over. A refresh, or rather, a reboot. I think this will be great; I am really excited.

This will be crap.... I will no doout see it, but only couse of the franchise name sake. The whole idea of rebooting spiderman in a failed attemp of a comic universe for spiderman for comics and a more adultish animation show is retarded. They took a 10 year time frame of building up a franchise in the movies, that had a chance of growing more with all that was set before, and wiped it away with out a single thought of care. He dose not look like a spiderman/ Peter Parker type at all. He is a tall overly skinny, with no real body structure of what Parker/ Spiderman was drawn too. People hacked on Toby when he was first picked on his looks, but he fit the bill. The thought of going into a twilightesk take on Spiderman,,,, well is crap to the tenth degree....

Yeah i know, lol. Its actually a funny story, because for my English class a couple weeks ago we watched Boy A and then just recently I finally got a chance to watch The Social Network and after doing so i was like, holy sh*t that was Andrew Garfield in Boy A (at that time I wasnt to into the movie sense it was for school and it didnt click) And now Im a big fan of him after watching Boy A (Ill need to watch it again sense ive missed some parts and then ill be able to pay more attention to it) and The Social Network which gets me stoked to see the new Spider-Man

@rarebloodtype wow. Peter Parker is supposed to be geeky. Second, don't be saying anything because he has been earning best supporting actor nominations everywhere. Too long of a neck-perhaps you have no neck? No trailer is out yet so why judge?

@rarebloodtype almost sounds as bad as that idiot that said it was bad because Garfield is Jewish. The haters hate for the dumbest reasons.
