Spider-Man 4 Aims for a May 2011 Release

Sony has finally decided when they expect to get Peter Parker and his friends and family back into the theatres for Spider-Man 4. Spider-Man producer Laura Ziskin told the Los Angeles Times that the studio is hoping to get the fourth film into theatres for May 2011.

Ziskin says that there is no completed screenplay yet, but she and Sony believe that Spider-Man 4 could still be ready in four years time. Despite this, at the present neither director Sam Raimi, nor stars Tobey Maguire and Kirstin Dunst are committed to doing a fourth film.

    They need to stop doing these before they have to start calling them Peter Parker 4.It seems like we saw 45 minutes of Spiderman and 2 hours of Peter Parker in Spiderman 3.

    Carnage is too close to Venom why would they even go there, they need to leave him alone. Move on to the lizard and bring back Venom, stop letting Grace talk while covered in the suit.

    sweet they should like 7 or 8 movies and but lizard in the next one and also venom for spiderman there are so many badguys your could be in like vulture shocker electro mystreio carnge i would love him to be in one who esle lets see umm hobgoblin put kingpin in this movie like in daredevil bring him back in movies so year theres alot

    Vincent... If you were a true fan you would be a little mad at how Spider-Man 3 turned out. It was cool all the hype he had the symbiote and what not. He got the suit in the middle of the movie and took it off 25 minutes later (Not exact timing) Venom got 20 minutes and he was the biggest secret of the whole thing. Sandman was not bad whatsoever, and Peter Parker forgave him. The New Goblin is a horrible name. They might as well have just called him Harry in the credits. They shouldve waited at least a little while before they shoved another Goblin into it. And the kicker was blowing up Venom... WHY? and then they want to create a spin-off series... If i am missing something someone let me know because as far as i know Eddie Brock is DEAD! They really messed up this series. They need a reboot or something...Daredevil was better than this. Spider-Man 2 they made it focus more on his love for Mary Jane than his war with Doc Ock... they are killing too many characters.

    i think everyone should give Spider-Man 4 a chance. I mean Spider-Man 3 was a dissapointment but Rami worked really hard on those effects in it. I mean in 4 years when Spider-Man 4 does come out, just think, they had 4 years to make this one. They had 4 years to make it right. They had 4 years to make the best SpiderMan yet! I mean BATMAN FOREVER and BATMAN AND ROBIN SUCKED! But everyone still saw BATMAN BEGINS and everyone's gonna see the DARK KNIGHT! SUPERMAN RETURNS SUCKED and everyone is looking forward to SUPERMAN:MAN OF STELL. Think about it.

    Poor movies these days have such high expectations, every studio wants to have that highest grossing movie of all time (Titanic).
    I'm not saying that Spider-Man 4 is going to be the greatest super hero movie ever, but come on give them chance to make it up, then if that fails you then perhaps its time to move on. Despite whats said about 3, part 4 will still make money, lets just hope it's money well spent.

    People should be negative, he is pretty much the marvel poster boy and they keep making crappy films like the last two. Doc Oc just turns good and says sorry? Wtf and all the characters they tried to shove in the 3rd one? Venom got like 2 scenes, he looked like sh** and he was the whole hype. 3 years of work should make a pretty decent film.

    That is a very good point, Teester. I hadn't really considered that before. But usually, but note not all the time, when a studio takes more time to do a movie more quality gets put into it. But once again, you bring up a very good point.

    But while I'm on that subject, that's why I have full faith in the Dragonball movie. They pushed it back for more time to work on it. But that's just how I feel. ;-)

    And XJWS79, you are absolutely 100% right. People just need to give this movie a chance. Besides, I still want to see Carnage, damn it! LOL :-)

    By the time this comes out you will have all forgotten Spider-Man 3, or at least I hope by then your not all still carrying a grudge by then.
    Sure the vast majority of movie web hated Spider-Man 3.
    But should we look forward to the studio to make it up to us with a better movie in Spider-Man 4. What I mean it took some time before someone made up for Batman and Robin, and we got Batman Begins. Perhaps that will happen with Spider-Man 4, guess we'll have to wait and find out.
