Sony will be releasing Black Hawk Down and Layer Cake in the new 50GB dual-layered Blu-ray Disc-ROM format.

The question is when?

In a story from The Digital Bits, it seems Sony listed these titles in this new format on their press website. Then, a few hours later, the titles mysteriously vanished.

Our friends at The Bits report that a Sony rep says that there will be an official announcement "very soon."

The only thing confirmed thus far is that Black Hawk Down and Layer Cake "will feature 1080p video and uncompressed PCM 5.1 audio."

Black Hawk Down was released January 18th, 2002 and stars Josh Hartnett, Ewan McGregor, Tom Sizemore, Eric Bana, William Fichtner, Ewen Bremner, Sam Shepard, Gabriel Casseus. The film is directed by Ridley Scott.
