Sony Pictures to Adapt inFAMOUS
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is working out a deal for rights to the game, which was published by sister company Sony Computer Entertainment.
Launched in May, inFAMOUS centers on bike messenger Cole MacGrath, who survives an explosion that destroys entire blocks of Empire City only to find he has new electricity-derived super powers. The action game, designed for Sony's PlayStation 3 console, allows the player to use his powers for good or evil, as MacGrath's karma affects how the devastated city's people and infrastructure deal with him.
A prequel comic book and soundtrack to the game also have been released.
No production date has been set.

The Bluray V/S red ring of death was also a no-brainer argument when I got mine ...graphics? please, don't overdo it..I've seen games being run on both systems and its not like they're THAT far apart. You can tell the difference, but to bitch about it like they're worlds apart ?...come on.Not to mention its been rightly argued theres still much about the PS3s graphical potential that's unused. Lock's also right about the controller having a better feel, though I couldn't care less about which one is sexy...as long as its reliable and doesn't die as easy as a 360 I'm good.
Who's got the best library's not that strong an argument in itself...they've both got some kikckass exclusives of their own, some of which are way over rated.
Natal looks like a sick innovation from MS I'll give you that (assuming it runs well in practice) still, there's also motion based tech being developed for Ps3 so.... (Hey,I'll be objective enough to reckon that from what I've seen natal outweighs the Ps3's own motion )......

alright, i was justing reading the PS3/360 debate and i gotta chime in a lil. i like both, and i see good qualities and bad qualities in both. i used to own all three the Wii 360 and PS3, but since the online is free on PS3 i was only playing the PS3 and sold the others. all three have great games actually, and i've found for the most part any game that is on all three always sucks for the Wii and depending on the game could go either way with the PS3 or 360. Wii really doesn't compare to the other two though as far as mature games and pure badassiness.
the 360 is cheaper but also seemed to get alot of internal errors and sh*t, i mean i head mine for 2 years and sent it in 3 times, i've had my PS3 for a year and a half and have had no problems. plus the PS3 is also a blu-ray player and say wut u will but they can fit more on a disc, evidence in that Rage the newest game from Id (company behind Doom and Quake) will be 2 or more discs on the 360 but only one on the PS3. 360 has Halo and Gears, but PS3 has Uncharted, God of War, Ratchet, Medal Gear, DCUO. and yeah i named more games for the PS3 but that is cuz i can't think of more for the 360 i'm sure it does have more first party games.
anyway i would still prefer Bioshock, Gears or Halo to be made before inFamous. (hey if u still count Bioshock, that is 3 360 games i want to be made into movies...)

lol, finally someone that agree with me on Prototype's visual film style.
Everyone says it need Bay-stylised action sequences, its needs to be a well built, plot-driven sci-fi action in the style of Danny Boyle's independent work like 28 days later & Sunshine but gritty and dark

Agent VIS all i have to say is right on. and lock and stock, it seems like your major point to the conversation is how sexy it is. come on now this is not a fetish site. I have a 360 and have played the PS3. I think that we can agree that both have there separate good qualities. now back to the movie end of things, Prototype would be kick ass. It definitely couldn't be flashy though. Dark and gritty would be the way too go for Prototype

I agree with Vis.
I own a 360 as well and in comparisons to the prices ranges, there is a dramatic difference between them, let not forget to stand that we are in a recession and well every penny counts.
Xbox's arsenal of games is actually uncomparable to ps3, why because there is nothing to compare really.
Tekken's gone where, oh wait no sorry that Metal Gear Solid as well...but that's a final fantasy, ain't it?
All the exclusive ps3 games are slowly hitting 360, just a nice example above.
Why because its cheaper to make games for the 360...
If you ask me the best looking game on the PS3 got cancelled and that was Getaway 3.
But you see MS had a marketing strategy, their aim wasn't to dominate the market with a powerful computer with stunning graphics, but to make a AFFORDABLE, POWERFUL computer easily compatible with its other studios.
Also lets not forget they were buying shares in companies as well...and as well now let's not forget MS own the company that provided Sony's best selling game being GTA.
Plus they are bringing a whole new range of features to Live, that motion thing, similar to the Wii...HALO IN VR sounds pretty sick.
Plus soon there will be SKY Digital TV avaliable on Live, where you can invite friends via Live to watch and chat...
Plus Halo:Legacy, anyone.
Really your argument fails Lock Stock

Let's just say that the 360's games are better, but the PS3's console is sexier and has more power, because the 360 has that red ring of death problem.

I never liked the feel of a PS controller, but to each his own.
The PS3's price is being reduced because sales suck.
Besides, I'm not talking about the console itself, I'm talking about the games. Mass Effect alone beats any sh*t on the PS3, and so did Bioshock before it branched out. Add in all the Halo games and Gears of War, and you have yourself some quality stuff. I don't care if the console is sexy, which seems to be your main argument.
But like I said, to each his own.

i have a 360 and didn't really want a ps3 until this came out..this is the absolutely only game that i would go out and buy a ps3 for. I'm excited to see this as a movie.

VIS, the reason why an X360 is cheap is because it's quality is worth that. It's like comparing a Ferrari to a City Golf, the Ferrari being worth so much, but worth it in the end. X360 is an everyman's console like you, but me i stand out from the crowd, when i have a sexy black PS3 in my living room. And the controller feels a hell of a lot better than that crap block of cheese known as 360. Not to mention PS3 has 3 graphic cards which it currently is only using 1, therfore showing the power it posseses, so just get over the fact a 360 will ever be better than a PS3 because it will never.

To be quite honest I thought inFAMOUS was one of the better games I have played this year so far. I own an Xbox 360 and a PS3 and both systems have their own hits but in my opinion its the story and gameplay that makes the game and inFAMOUS has both. From beginning to end the story draws you into its clutches and builds up some suspense as to what is going on and why. Depending on what karma path you take affects the outcome of your story. The camera works well with all the abilities that Cole can utilize and the storyline is thoroughly engrossing. If you do own a PS3 I would recommend giving this a try and I can only hope the team at Sony Pictures does this adaptation some justice and follows along the path of the story thats in the game. Surely they will pick the righteous path but still should provide a really nice movie to watch.

It was an ok game, not as good as prototype, will work as a film though maybe, but funnily enough i had an idea for a good film, and it was essentially prototype, that would be an awesome film given the right approach and budget, something movie studios dont trust most productions with is freedom, which is crippling modern film if you ask me...

Oh wow, look, a PS3 fanboy causing sh*t.
Look, I don't have a PS3, but I can gather that it's no where near as great as the 360. The PS3 is overpriced and will quickly be replaced whereas the 360 is here to stay for quite some time. The PS3 exclusives feature games like Resistance, inFamous, Uncharted, and Killzone 2, but they haven't gathered the critical acclaim that 360's games have. Mass Effect, Halo series, Gears of War 1 and 2, not to mention Bioshock WAS a 360 exclusive until PS3 needed a pick-me-up because it can't compete with the 360's arsenal of games.
Sony's "sexiness" can't compete with the Microsoft's quality gaming experiences. I've watched part of an Infamous walk through on youtube and the graphics can't compare to the 360's major titles. Just look at a video of gameplay of Mass Effect alone and you'll be floored. According to IGN, and they know their games, PS3's version of Bioshock is less quality than the 360 version.
If I had a PS3, I'd probably like their exclusives and I can't talk sh*t w/o having played them, but for you to just come on here saying "PS3 by far kicks the sh*t X360's ass" w/o backing it up in any way is idiotic, and I doubt anything you say can justify that statement. You can LIKE the PS3 better, but as far as quality games go with critical and fan acclaim, the 360 "kicks its ass."

I don't have a PS3 so I can't comment on inFamous, but I have Prototype and it's mediocre. The action is good and the story is interesting, but the cut scenes suck so they don't really do anything to make the story as good as it sounded on paper.

I agree with Andrew, despite Infamous is a very good game, i think Prototype has a more intriguing story that would work better on screen than Infamous, especially if directed by someone like Danny Boyle style in that he had in 28 days later.
Give it a more independent visual, than over the top Michael Bay action sequences

Great Critical AND Commercial succes for inFamous...Just ended it last week on good ending. Hope they have the decency of making something that's true to a game of this caliber...

I think that they should adapt the video gave Prototype. Because that has alot of action, something to do with a virus breakout (which everyone loves), and a story about finding yourself and how you became the virus. I haven't tried Infamous just yet, but it does seem interesting.
