Sony Picks Up White House Down and The Royal Honours Society

Sony Pictures is planning on developing action drama's White House Down and The Royal Honours Society. Both were picked up after a Heated bidding war between the studio and Paramount.

White House Down comes from The Amazing Spider-Man writer James Vanderbilt and is an action drama that combines Die Hard and Air Force One. The writer is also producing with Mythology Entertainment's Bradley Fischer and Laeta Kalogridis. Sony bought the script for $3 million.

The second, The Royal Honours Society, is a literary action-adventure from Ernest Lupinacci, which follows H.G. Wells, Jules Verne, Robert Louis Stevenson through their adventures in the early 19th century.

Both projects are still in early development.

As well the latter one sounds awesome but I wonder if its partially based on real facts and seems quite too much like Midnight In Paris.

Both interesting... The first one sounds kind of cliche that the white house gets taken hostage, which well in general despite its from Vanderbilt,i doubt he can do it as spectacular as 24 did it.
