Teri Hatcher is Lois Lane's mother!
Although the mother of Erica Durance's Lois Lane character is dead, it seems that Lois finds some old videotapes of her mother, Ella, in Episode 10.08: Abandoned.

I know this is old news but since I'm a newbie, I'm just now seeing this...
@CBF: If you look at Terri Hatcher, she's actually a very dark brunette which only appears to make her hair look black. Erica Durance is also a brunette, not a blonde, who just so happens to have a more light goldish brown hair color. But, since you haven't watched the show in later seasons, I can tell you that her hair has actually gotten darker over the years, and was especially dark in the show's amazing 200th episode "Homecoming." :)
Believe you and me, Durance has slipped perfectly into place in this role in the past couple seasons. She really is fun to watch as Lois.

I think the casting is great. Where the past meets the future. This reminds me of the episode when Christopher Reeves came aboard.

@Remy72883 Ok. I don't really watch the show that much anymore really, so honestly I have no clue how her acting has held up to the current point. But I have seen her on the show, you know I wish they would have at least dyed her hair black or gave her a wig. Lois has always had black hair in every incantation and medium. So I guess it fits with the show's theme in that everything in the show throws you way off from Superman's real story and history.

awesome news but i dont agree with you on the bad casting call @CBF i think they did a great job, no doubt Terri Hatcher will always be Lois in my opinion i think Erica is doing a great job though

Teri Hatcher is more Lois that that blonde Erica Durance chick. Durance doesn't even slightly resemble Lois Lane. Very bad casting choice. Teri Hatcher on the other hand is a good actress. I liked her in Lois & Clark (as dated as that show is now) and 007: Tomorrow Never Dies.
