Smallville Finale Reviews! What Did You Think?

The end of Smallville is here.
The end of Smallville is here.
The CW's Smallville ended it's 10 year ride last night with a series finale most fans seem to be very satisfied with. The two-hour finale was seen by 3 million viewers and captured a 1.3 preliminary rating in the adult demo. This is a 63% in viewership since last week. According to EW, that's not quite a season high, but it's the most-watched and highest-rated episode since last fall.

MovieWeb's own Screeny has done an impressive job of breaking the series down season by season and has given his review of how it all summed up. Click Here! to check it all out, and even review the finale for yourself.

So, what did you think about the end of Smallville, and what was supposed to be the beginning of Superman?

thanks @cupid i appreciate it and @jptheredskull yeah i caught wind of it and yeah even though Tom wouldn't be a part of it i honestly think he would make an appearance from time to time, i mean come on he would love it, a JLA spin off with everyone left the flash and green arrow would be an amazing show and when it comes to Clark all they would have to do is mention him from time to time i think it would be great, even if we couldnt get a JLA spin off i would love a green Arrow one

could somebody tell me how jimmy olsen came back to life? why would they say that's his "brother" if they use the same actor?

@remy72883 Did you know it's in the realm of possibilty that we could get a JLA/Teen Titans spin-off, minus Clark. Kyle Gallner, who played Kid Flash/Impulse has stated in interviews he'd be up of a Smallville spin-of and with the recent cancellation of V, Laura Vandervoort would probably be on board too.

I had stopped watching Smallville, a couple of years ago. I got tired of waiting for Clark to 'become' Superman. I did watch the series finale. I must admit, it was outstanding!! The first scene when Clark flies (via the customary red uniform), as Superman.. was quite moving! That episode itself, was a very well executed storyline. Also, the final scene.. of course, of Superman tearing open his white shirt to reveal that maginficent "S" & flying off to the rescue.. was just perfect!!

i absolutly love this show and even though their will be no more new episodes that does not mean im gonna stop being a fan, ive seen every episode front to back i think in the 10 years i only missed one, before the new season would start i would watch the previous one the week before just to amp me up even more, tom did an amazing job with this character and even the late Mr Reeve RIP would have been so proud of this show and everyone involved, when it comes to the haters all i got to say is get a life and stop trying to bring down something that brought joy to so many, GET A LIFE, as for the finally it was brilliant, yeah i would have loved to see a kick ass battle between darkside and clark but him going right threw him like that made sense, he was pure of hurt and hope and that destroyed the essense of darkside, i wish they would have kept it going but their is nothing you can do, Lex not remembering clark with tess is last dying wish was awesome and so unexpected, clark and lex having it out and lex explaining their destined to do this battle almost forever but it cant happen unless clark saves him now was a really nice touch. all and all i will miss the new spisodes cause they have so much more material to work with story wise, but im buying season 10 the first day its out and im gonna start watching it as soon as possible, like a true fan the show might be over but that does not mean i cant relive all the good times and memories from time to time, THANKYOU EVERYONE WHO WAS INVOLVED WITH THIS SHOW, SIMPLY SAID BEST SHOW EVER MADE AND NONE OTHER WILL EVER COME CLOSE TO IT IN MY BOOK,

Christopher Reeve would have loved it, I loved the way they incorporated the music, even the credits, with the original Superman. Tom was fantastic, I so hated to see Smallville end but they did it very well.

Bad news Smallville fans.....looks as though they WON'T be releasing the complete series on Blu Ray. Tvshowsondvd said that earlier versions of Smallville won't allow for it to be converted to Blu Ray. Check out www.kryptonsite.com for more details.

I give it 3 stars out of 5. The overall general concept was superb. Both fathers getting together for the birth of a new hero. Not letting go of the past and learning to use it to help you in the future. Lex's return, Clark finaly putting on the suite and becoming the idol and super hero he was meant to be. However, there are a few things I felt were a little off. I would have liked to have seen a scene with Lionel and Lex having one of their talks in a reunion rivalry setting. A close up of Superman walking and sporting the suite would have been nice. And a deeper more detailed explication as to how exactly he defeated dark side opposed to him just flying up there and everything just vanishing. The episode in general felt a bit rushed as they were quickly transitioning from one scene to the other.( Like how Clark destroyed the Lionel Luther/Dark Side villain by just flying threw him) All in all it was still enjoyable to see the story rap up and Clark become the Superman he was meant to become. Thumps up !!! I liked it. It got the job done and was very good. But not a master peace as some of these reviewers make it out to be.

This was my favorite show for the past 10 yrs, every yr got the season on dvd right when it came out but this one of the best shows out there to show a story of friendships, love, unknowns, where you came from, why are you here, what guides the person, how much support he has in his life, the road to superman, clark was weak boy at first but grew up to be the man that everyone looked up too, he is superman, loved the flying, the whole thing about both of his dad needing to have see that holding on to something isn't bad it is just a memory that will help down the road, Smallville will no be replaced or beaten for the amount of time a sci-fi show/comic show has been on the air

I have been watching since the beginning and i really enjoyed the ending. they tied up loose ends that most fans would have noticed or brought up. I do think they could have actually showed tom in the suit up close but i figure there was a good reason why not. Maybe in a deleted scene or something. Gonna miss the show.

@cupid yep people wanna bash Smallville and those who started stopped and wanna make negative comments when they have no clue what's going on. Smallville didn't last 10 years cause it sucked. It lasted that long and maybe could have went 12 because of the cast and the fans. Haters will always hate

It was one of the greatest shows ever done on TV. The show's finale was so powerful and great that made me sad to see it end. Can't wait for it to come out on DVD to watch it over and over again.

Yea no disrespect to Cavill or Adams, but no Lois and Clark have ever had as much chemistry and charisma as Tom and Erica. Erica is the best Lois by a million miles and Tom is the best Clark Kent/Superman to me. He was held back by budget and other restrictions, without those he would have shined brightly. Tom is a very good actor and I hope somewhere in the not to distant future we can see him back as the Man of Steel

very happy with the finale. Only issue is the ending scenes with Superman, no close ups...Seemed to be choppy with the CGI and head shots of Tom

Cupid, even though we seem to agree that Erica is the bomb, that obviously doesn't mean she would get to play Lois in a big screen version of Superman with Tom. I was just saying that I would prefer that she did, that's all.
