In a story from The Hollywood Reporter, Simon Beaufoy will be writing Leap Year for Spyglass Entertainment.

Amy Adams will be starring in the film. Anand Tucker will be directing.

The film follows a woman who goes to Dublin to propose to her man on leap day, Feb. 29. Apparently, this is an Irish tradition where women do the honors. She runs into inclement weather and finds herself dealing with a tough Irish innkeeper in order to complete her mission.

Harry Elfont and Deb Kaplan wrote the initial script that got the project rolling and got Adams.

Leap Year was released January 8th, 2010 and stars Amy Adams, Matthew Goode, Adam Scott, John Lithgow, Noel O'Donovan, Tony Rohr, Pat Laffan, Alan Devlin. The film is directed by Anand Tucker.
