Showtime has given the go-ahead for more of its popular historical drama series. According to Variety, Showtime has renewed The Tudors for a fourth season.

The network ordered 10 more episodes of the series, which have been set to premiere in the spring of 2010. Series creator/executive producer Michael Hirst will write all 10 episodes of the new season, like he has done for the series' run so far.

It was said that production would start this June on the new season, with filming to take place in Dublin, Ireland. The series stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as King Henry VIII.
