Ehh.. Not really impressed. Is it just me or does it seem like Downey Jr. is trying a much heavier British accent?

@bawnian-dexeus - I gave him grief on the X-Men articles and he flipped sh*t, so I just decided that giving people grief is not worth it.

Cool trailer but then again, the first movie had a cool trailer I didn't really enjoy that movie. It just doesn't feel like Sherlock Holmes to me. I will probably wait until Bluray to rent it.

It looks great. The same basic formula as the first one, but it looks to have a very different feel to it. Great cast, too.

@thedude-abides Maybe, but this was just the first teaser trailer. It showcased a new player in Rapace, showed us Harris' Moriarty, the boys doing what they do, a few action sequences and poor jokes, and over. I've seen better teasers, sure, but this was far from bad.

Maybe the next trailer will deal more with the plot elements and help sell it to you better.

@bawnian-dexeus What are you talking about, I give @cupid grief all the time. He can tell you about how I've scolded him on his negativity towards a lot of movies. We've since come to an amicable ground, though.

No to throw him onto the sharks, but I'm surprised cupid hasn't gotten ripped for expressing his distastes on some films.

@dan1 That's understandable. You're right about the story building up on the Moriarty bit. The entire first movie, especially the ending, was leading up to a second installment. The whole thing just looks like a new vehicle for Ritchie to say the same jokes one more time, I guess is what my problem is with it. It basically looks like the same movie, same story elements, but with a different plot line.

If you were to transplant the first movie's story onto the second movie, and replace Mark Strong's character with Moriarty, I think we'd be looking at virtually the same movie, only a much less original one. That's the best way I know how to put my feelings into words. I'll thumbs up the next article, I swear. Lol.

@thedude-abides Ok, but I'm still not understanding how this sequel is needless when the first film's main background figure, Moriarty, was being set up the entire time for the next story? I thought this sequel was absolutely necessary, else the first film would have lost a lot of points from me if it did all that build up and we DIDN'T get a follow up/conclusion to where it was going.

Critiquing the trailer, I didn't laugh at the cross dressing gag (I rarely do, that's an over played joke, even if it is RDJ doing it), and the action seemed pretty heavy for a super sleuth movie, but I enjoy the chemistry between Law and Downey (even though their bromance seems to border on homoerotic at times. Or is that just me?), and I know Noomi will be a fun addition. It looks like a fun, winter blockbuster to me. I'm sorry we disagree so much on this one, but those are my thoughts.
