Noomi Rapace joins Sherlock Holmes 2
Producers Joel Silver, Susan Downey, Lionel Wigram, and Dan Lin will reunited with Guy Ritchie on the sequel. While details of the plot are being kept under wraps, it is known that Sherlock Holmes will be squaring off against his longtime nemesis Moriarty. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the movie will also mark the debut of Holmes' brother Mycroft. At this time, neither of these highly coveted roles has been cast, though Brad Pitt has long been rumored to portray Moriarty.
As for Noomi Rapace, her character is as shrouded in mystery as Sherlock Holmes 2's storyline. She is rumored to play a French Gypsy, but it is unclear if she will be involved in the plot as a romantic interest for any of the four male leads.
Warner Bros. is hoping to shoot later this year.
Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows was released December 16th, 2011 and stars Robert Downey Jr., Jude Law, Noomi Rapace, Rachel McAdams, Jared Harris, Stephen Fry, Paul Anderson, Kelly Reilly. The film is directed by Guy Ritchie.

Hey. That's not a bad runner-up spot at all. Good for Rapace.

Brad Bitt.....mmmmmmm... not really the actor that The Mime would go for but still its a good pick. The Mime would go for someone like Michael Fassbender or something like that.

After seeing Daniel Day-Lewis as Bill the Butcher in Gangs of New York, there is no doubt in my mind he would make the ultimate Moriarty. Oldman would be good, but Lewis has my vote.

Rumor has it that Daniel Day-Lewis and Gary Oldman are top contenders for the role of Moriarty. Both choices would be excellent, but again, it's a rumor.
