Shawnee Smith Returns in Saw VI

The Official Saw website has been updated with the following news from John Raybin. According to Saw VI producer Mark Burg, actress Shawnee Smith will return to the franchise as the popular character Amanda.

Burg also revealed that there would be several new characters added to the mix. He claims that the film will be a lot more violent than Saw V, with traps that pit victims against each other in a race against time. He even went as far as to exclaim, "This could be the best script yet!"

John Raybin will be reporting exclusively from the Saw VI set everyday. We will alert you to any updates. The movie begins shooting in Toronto, Canada on March 30th.

Saw VI was released October 23rd, 2009 and stars Tobin Bell, Costas Mandylor, Mark Rolston, Betsy Russell, Shawnee Smith, Peter Outerbridge, Athena Karkanis, Samantha Lemole. The film is directed by Kevin Greutert.

    I'm not being rude, i know the theory of Jigsaw dead is unbelieveable, its a possibility Amanda is still alive, she took 1 bullet, correct, it is pretty easy to survive a bullet in film wise.

    Now let's review Dr Gordan, he decapitated part of his leg to escape from the chains, now watch Saw 2 and see how far it is to freedom from the room they are in because lets not forget the bathroom was like under the house that they played the game to Saw 2 in.
    Unless someone helped him.

    Another thing i fogured out is one of the known slogans for the film was 'In the end all the pieces will come together' and the producers and Tobin Bell stated that there was only one piece left in the puzzle... So what is the one thing in the entire Saw franchise that we don't know?

    What was in the box?

    I reckon the box will answer all the questions

    Also to correct people, the producers stated there will only be a total of 6 films, so sorry, there won't be a seventh film. Because all of the actors contracts run the total of 6 films, making a 7th means renewing contracts

    The first two were good, the thrid was so so and the last two sucked this is the new version of friday the 13th it will never end and it's the same story repeated over and over in every sequal they make. I wish they would end this franchise before they reuin it anymore.

    I agree with JR. I have been saying that Dr Gordon will return ever since Saw 3. Hes the only loose end really. When he went crawling out the door in Saw 1, he was supposedly going for help, but where did he go? We have to assume that he never got help because no help ever came..in fact.. the only thing you ever see of him cutting his foot off was the first initial cut.. as hes crawling out, his pants are covering the "wound". If he would've died while going for help from say..blood loss, or trauma, why didnt we see his body lying in the hallway somewhere... I believe its been Dr Gordon helping Jigsaw from the very beginning & it will make Saw VI even more badass if he makes his return.

    Well, obviously hoffman is still around. So there has to be something with him. Plus, the last couple have been doing the flashback thing, so thats why smith will be there, as well as tobin. They are dead. Promise you that. This isn't going to be like swordfish with a fake body. Also, did everyone forget about the box Jig left his wife? They are going to make her the main baddie. Or she was involved the whole time. Something twisty like that. They brought her in to eff with you the whole time. Making you think she is just the reason Jig started. But she went back to the Fbi dude and said that one agent was following her. Shes twisted. She is a part of it. Tellin you. This isnt that hard to figure out what they are going to do. You could see everything coming since #3. But I agree with most, they should have stopped this awhile ago. The traps were the only thing keeping it alive. But thats just my opinion.

    Tobin Bell is reported to return in the film, but possible only as a flashback.
    I reckon there is another apprentice that could be the master, its a possibility that Jigsaw was a copycat.

    Also don't forget i swear Amanda only got shot as well, she got a bullet to the chest from Jeb if i'm not mistaken, one bullet its plausible she lived.
    I was just raising a mad possibility that everyone seems to think, moviebuff, could happen.
    But if Jigsaw was a copycat, then that means the real jigsaw is still out there.
    A nice twist could be that Amanda and the jigsaw's wife, Jill were some how part of the game without Hoffman or Jigsaw knowing.

    Jigsaw still alive J.A.??? Are you serious. The guy's brain was on the floor at the end of Part 3 and I could be wrong since it was quite a while ago since I saw it, but wasn't his throat slashed as well? The guy's dead.... and if they claim he's alive in Part 6, I'll laugh at this tired franchise for doing something as stupid as that.

    Anyway.... I think this is the final installment of the franchise (at least thats what I once read) so hopefully they saved the best for last..... but I doubt it. I would really like for them to actually surprise me with the twist endings that one and two had. Those two twist caught me off guard. The twists on Part 3, 4, and 5 were so damn predictable. So I really hope they're telling the truth and they catch me off guard again. But like I said.... I doubt it.

    Well this should be the last one... It's stated to have 6 films altogether within the franchise.
    So hopefully it ends with a bang.

    I reckon Amanda or Jigsaw are still alive or they were just apprentices altogether to begin with, and there is some one higher up as the master
