It seems Catherine Hardwicke's post-Twilight film has found a writer. According to Variety, Shaunna Cross has come on board to write If I Stay.

The film is based on the Gayle Foreman novel which centers on the odd-couple pairing of a prodigal classical musician and her indie rock star boyfriend, who is faced with some tough decisions after his girlfriend is in a car accident with her family.

No production schedule was given for the film. Cross wrote the Ellen Page film Whip It!, directed by Drew Barrymore, which is set for release later this year.
