Actor Sharlto Copley has been confirmed to play the villain in director Spike Lee's Oldboy remake. He has also finalized a deal to star in Open Grave for director Gonzalo López-Gallego (Apollo 18).

We reported last month that the District 9 star was in early talks to play the Oldboy villain, Adrian Pryce. Now his deal is officially sealed to play the billionaire, who releases Joe Douchett (Josh Brolin) after keeping him in captivity for several years. Elizabeth Olsen also stars as a case worker who helps Joe figure out his past.

Open Grave has been in development since 2006, when Nala Films signed on to the project. Now Atlas Entertainment is producing, with Gonzalo López-Gallego directing from a screenplay by Chris Borey and Eddie Borey. The story centers on a man who wakes up surrounded by dead bodies, and has no idea how he got there. He starts to have bizarre, murderous flashbacks, and begins to think the he is the killer.

It isn't known when production will begin on either of these projects.

Oldboy comes to theaters October 11th, 2013 and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Josh Brolin, Elizabeth Olsen, Sharlto Copley, Lance Reddick, Michael Imperioli, James Ransone, Richard Portnow. The film is directed by Spike Lee.
