Monsters and Critics reported back from Saturday's TCA press tour with the exciting news that Shannen Doherty would in fact be making an appearance on the CW's upcoming redo of Beverly Hills, 90210. Series creator Gabe Sachs made the announcement during the morning panel for the show.

Doherty will return to the zip code that made her famous playing a special drama teacher that is in charge of the school's upcoming musical. It is not known how many episodes she will return for. Other actors returning from the original series include Jennie Garth, Tori Spelling, and Joe E. Tata, owner of the new and improved Peach Pit.

Beverly Hills, 90210 premieres with a two hour pilot on September 2nd, 2008.
