this producer made a movie base on a short story by Philip K Dick's. I did read the short story and mars is a part of the stories premiss so this story goes on a beat of its own which is ok by me. movie does look solid. we can't tell how good it is going to be until we see it. I wonder what is this quail recall dream is about?

Loved the original! It was twisty, fun and awesome. This looks great too though. I know people are all snobby about remakes but why can't there be room for two riffs on the same idea if they're both good?
I'm lined up already for this one!

this looks amazing
Arnold's version was cool but Im kinda glad we're not going to Mars again
the stuff they did to people when they couldn't breathe freaked me out as hell
and pretty neat that Colin Farrell is in two remakes two summers in a row
plus any guy would dig Beckinsale and Biel
I really want this version to do well

@huntsman I totally agree. The VFX back then were awesome and the story/action are good, but the film as a whole doesn't hold up to date like other great old sci-fi's do. I think it was because the Mars part was just way too farfetched compared to the relatively realistic future Earth.
I think the remake's director realized that and decided to scratch Mars out of it and keep it more grounded. And I think it looks awesome.

So... he doesn't get his ass to Mars?

This looks great. I was never a fan of the original movie. It was a below average Sci-fi film. I don't understand why people like it so much. The story and action was decent, but the film was filled with bad acting and plot holes.

Love the imagry but Mars and aliens were an integral part of Philip K Dick's story.

Wait there is no mars in this remake? The red planet is what made the old1 good, the view outside, the red sand, the burnt of his skin in a dream, it was all good stuff, and with today's special fxs, they could have made that 100x better.

Reminds me of starars 2 or 3. lol
Looks better than the old1, or at least the cgi s/f do, however I think adding Arnold to some sort of cameo would have been sweet.

I never asked for a reboot, but so far the footage has looked good despite the removal of Mars. Ironically enough, this has the same projected budget J Carter had so, better be good.
