@bawnian-dexeus I think he means just in the movies, not the comics. He's saying that by looking at both TDK and TDRK, Bane will turn out to look like Batman's stronger foe in the trilogy.

The way it looks like its going to be, is that Bane hurts him more then the Joker did in the Dark Knight. Plus, i don;t recall seeing the Joker hurting him at all in the Dark Knight, except for the people on the Jokers side.

@themoviefanatic Both in the movies and in the comics, the Joker has been Batman's greatest villain (in my opinion) and has caused more damage through their confrontations than Bane by simply as you put it "beats him to a pulp".

How do you figure that? The way it looks to me so far, is that Bane beats him to a pulp, which the Joker in the Dark Knight didn't do that himself in the Dark Knight.

Is it me or does Banes voice sound more clear in the trailer then the prologue?
But to be honest, i kind of liked how his voice sounded in the prologue

@themoviefanatic Joker got physical with Batman a couple of times. Joker even pinned Batman down to the ground. Just because Bane might be more physical than Joker doesnt mean he took more of a toll on Batman. Joker is Batmans greatest advesary

@bawnian-dexeus I agree with you man. The Joker broke Batman down. He killed his friend and the woman he loved. He took him to the point where he was about to give up as Batman and even possibly kill. @rated-x Bane breaking his back was physical and Batman healed from that. But the emotional toll Joker puts on Batman is far worse. Now if Bane had killed Batman then I could agree more with you

@themoviefanatic My opinion, Joker did more damage to Bruce than Bane could ever inflict in a single match

I disagree. I have a feeling that Bane will be much more chilling then the Joker. Bane physically hurts Batman in the Dark Knight Rises, and in the Dark Knight the Joker doesn't get physical and fight Batman. Plus, Bane probably beats up more then just Batman in the Dark Knight Rises.

Bane won't be as chilling as The Joker was,but when Bane said to a probably back-broken Wayne,"When Gotham is ashes, you'll have my permission to die.",I got goosebumps:)

@the-movieghost I thought that would be the case since there were some screenshots released of the lazarus pit. I believe there was an article about that and it mentioning Talia al Ghul, altough i could be wrong.
Thanks anyways.

@bruce-ha: As cool as that would be, here's what Ms. Cotillard said about that: "Cotillard has denied speculation that she is playing a dual role as Talia al Ghul, stating that her character is a completely original creation."
That might just be cover, but who knows?

That was an amazing trailer!
That female actress from Inception, Marion Cotillard, is it true that she is Talia Al Ghul?
Wouldn't that mean that Ra's al Ghul is alive?

@the-movieghost: Good point. I didn't think about that. It may be Santa Prisca and that old guy may be the priest Bane befriended in prison? Perhaps.
1 year agoby @slysnideFlag
the MovieGhost
@slysnide, @ghostman: Well that scene with all the steps could be Santa Prisca, which after doing some reading, was the "birthplace" of Bane; where he served his father's prison sentence. Although the architecture is modeled after Chand Baori, a stepwell in India, it could very well have been retrofitted into a prison. That is the place with the giant well we've seen a few times now (with (possibly) Bane climbing out and soldiers repelling down into it).
And we obviously know there will be a large force of thugs because we've seen the photos and videos of two large groups, one of police and the other Bane's men plus other assorted criminals. And not to forget the "City Hall Brawl".
1 year agoby @the-movieghostFlag
slysnide
@the-movieghost@ghostman: If that's a prison. He has no reason to go into hiding, as Bane said "When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die." That's why he crippled him. Make Bruce incapable of stopping him, and leave Wayne Manor alone so Bruce can watch Bane's destruction on television and from his front yard which overlooks the city. So the first big chunk of the film will setup new characters as well as Gotham's state economically, governmentally, and emotionally. Then Bane breaks Batman, followed by the takeover of Gotham through chaotic & anarchist methods. Whatever Bane's Gotham is like, it'll be bad. Enough so that when Batman finally recovers he'll rise with the other exiles (presumed exiles as I doubt Bane would tolerate unwilling citizens to just stand around in the city) to take back Gotham. However, Bruce will lack the motivation to return "What if he doesn't exist anymore?" In the interim of his injury and return, he must undergo some analytical scan of the new Gotham. If enough people (besides criminals) join Bane, then how can Batman really kid himself that they want things to go back to the way they were? Obviously there aren't enough prisoners at Blackgate & Arkham to overthrow the entire city to the point where law enforcement (i.e.--most of Batman's mob), unwilling civilians, and the national guard (showed up in "TDK") wouldn't be able to repel the attack. Joker's methods worked so well because he was only operating with a small band of crooks armed with IEDs and guns. Very hard to track. But a trained militia and a mob of criminals/citizens? You can't hide that or raid City Hall unnoticed. The national guard would be all over that. And if they intervened in "TDK," then Bane must have a way to repel them here to the point where it's up to Batman and his mob of those who know Gotham like the back of their hand can get the job done. Though as I said, I doubt Batman will win. This is a conclusion after all, and while he may redeem his reputation (maybe thanks in part to Bane as he's got that photo of Harvey he's publicly displaying at the same spot where Gordon gave the eulogy), I doubt he'll save the city completely. It's a conclusion. Bane's animalistic enough to most likely die (as he would sacrifice himself for the cause) but enough of Gotham will be destroyed economically, governmentally, emotionally, and partly literally enough to where the LoS wins, and Gotham finally turns that new leaf...though at horrific costs.

Ghostman
@slysnide@the-movieghost So basically, it'll go: Bane breaks Batman, Bruce goes into hiding (the prison scenes) while Batman is gone, Bane takes over Gotham, then Bruce "rises" and comes back to Gotham in which he battles Bane during the climatic City Hall brawl which would end the film.
1 year agoby @ghostmanFlag
slysnide
@the-movieghost: That's what I said, a willing LoS sacrifice. As for the City Hall brawl, I'd say that was the end. Bane will break Batman when he first meets him. It'll be like a reversal of the "Knightfall" story as Bane even said "When Gotham is ashes, you have my permission to die," which indicates he's yet to destroy Gotham or even get cracking at it. As an LoS member, he'd know who Batman was, and could get him out of the way first, then go on his tirade with Batman rising to take back the city in the climax after Bane's destruction; again akin to the "Knightfall" story, except there Bane created chaos first to tire Batman before confronting him, and rather than facing Bane, he faced Azrael when returning from his injury to take back Gotham. I bet that's the way they're going with this. It after all isn't logical to tire him out first. All it takes is the element of surprise. What I wanna know is where all those endless stairs are that those people are chilling at as Bruce walks around, and where the combat like dudes come repelling down into it.
1 year agoby @slysnideFlag
the MovieGhost
@slysnide: That's a good thought. Although, it also could've been one of Bane's men or an actual LoS Member.
So if that was City Hall, it begs the question... when does that mass brawl happen? I could see it happening in the beginning, middle, or end, well I guess it couldn't be the end since we've seen Bane & Bats in the "Batcave".
