I think anybody that knows horror or how to do one, would be a good choice, not some rookie or random bastard just so he can cash in on it.
The guy who made "dawn of the dead" think it was Zack Snyder not sure. but thats the kinda guy who should be in on such a film like RE.

I myself would not be mad if they did decide to do a reboot. @jasonkat I think Rob Zombie would be a good candidate for a reboot, it would probably have more gore with him. A few other good candidates for a reboot would be Robert Rodriguez, Alexandre Aja and Maybe Danny Boyle(I'm still waiting on 28 Months Later). Until then I'll just enjoy these.

Dont get me wrong, i love these movies, It may not be the direction of the game, the story, or the way i hoped for it to have been, but as a standalone ,these are pretty good.
Even rob zombie could have made a better movie w his wife than this guy.
There are tons of directors who can easily pull this off and give its fans what they wanna see. But until then, i will just enjoy whatever is givin to me for the mean time.

I can sit here and tell you that im a die hard RE fan, but i know in me that's a lie because i know others know more about the RE history than i do.
All i know is that when i 1st started playing resident evil on ps1 back in the 90s, i fell in love w it and i wouldnt put it down, i remember waking up early just to play from where i left off, never have i been so into a game like RE on ps1. then part2 came out and again, i was hooked
I dont remember much of RE 3, but it was kool fighting that monster from resident evil apocalypse.
Anyhow I was thrilled as fuk when i heard RE was gonna come out as a movie. i couldnt wait to watch it in theaters! i saw it and i just felt let-down, in sum way i loved it, but in another.. i felt like ok this could've been worst, Either way i accepted it for what it was.
I loved the ending, the very last part because it felt like part2 would be a masterpiece, but again, this director keeps going the wrong way with these films. by the time part3 came out, i gave up on this chit and not even 4 could save it. then 4 came out.....man what a waste of money lol

@cheetoboy I agree, I haven't played the games but I have a friend who's a total nut for them and he likes the movies, especially the last one. I actually liked the last one even more than the others (although I only saw it when it came out, should give it another view).
I just "hate" them cus I KNOW some other talented director would make truly awesome movies, so it's kind of a wasted franchise to me.

I think Milla Jovovich is cute, but she couldn't hold a candle to Kate Beckinsale which I'll say looks way better in a leather outfit. Quite personally, I love women with curves. I do agree with y'all in some ways, I'm also a fan of the games, but I actually do like the movies. Yes I admit the stories are totally different, the movies are entertaining, some times thats what you need a good old fashioned action monster flick, and yes the story maybe generic, but it is still fun, and plus there are movies out there that just aren't entertaining or fun at all. Resident Evil films may not be the best, but there certainly not the worst movies. Personally I prefer this over The dull Twilight Saga any day.

This looks absolutely horrible, I can't even understand how you guys are arguing over the story when clearly W.S. Anderson doesn't give a f*ck about it. His only reason for making these movies is to film his wife running around with guns in a tight outfit with guns. He probably doesn't even know there's a game about this lol (kidding)
Never has a franchise needed a reboot more than this.
@m2 ugh, finally someone else. No, she's not attractive to me either. She has her cute moments like maybe in The Fifth Element, but that's about it. I don't even think she looks hot in this Underworld rip-off costume.

I don't think that the trailer is saying that eveything in the other RE films were all imagined, At The end of Resident Evil After Life when all those planes arrived, they probably captured Alice again, which is probably how Retribution will. They put her into another coma, then while she's sleep they implant fake memories in her head to throw her off track, she then goes on search to what she thinks is finding out about her pass, but thats when Ada comes in and reveals to her that her current adventure is based on lies due to fake memory implants. At least thats my theory, but I agree with @jasonkat everything from the previous movies really happened.

The director knew that he came to a dead end after 'AFTER LIFE" when abunch of planes were aiming to alice and the crew and they would all die right there, end of story. unless they jumped off the ship. Either way thats a dead end, So he decided to change the story around so that alice is in another location there4 she doesnt die and he can 1s again milk us dry for RE6.

@jonspidey07 It's not the last one, but it is setting up for the finale. Anderson said he wasn't gonna do another one until he saw how this one did in theaters, BUT he has set it up to be the beginning of the end, and if he were to do a sixth one, it would be the finale. :)

Did i judt see leon on at 1:50? that soo looks like him from the game.
However "what if it all never existed"? who the hell are you kidding? everything i saw did happen, you cant act like it was all a dream. She was married, but not to carlos, the bastard would have remembered her in RE 2. her real hubby died at the end of RE (1), there's even a photo of them together.
Now they make it seem like she was never married to him and carlos was her real guy, Oh and there was never an indication that she had a child. this is all bullsh*t.
I think This movie will play out as a twist.

oh dear lord....i can't wait for the reboot of this when they actually use the capcom storyline....this is disappointing. I'm still going to see the movie, but as a Resident Evil fan (starting from the 1996 game till now)....i will have my doubts about these movies. Wake up Anderson: let's do it right next time. BTW: Wesker sucks in the movies.
