Second 'Oz: The Great and Powerful' Trailer Pays Tribute to Sam Raimi's 'The Evil Dead'

Director Sam Raimi's talents as a legendary horror director are put on display in this very scary, very funny look at the prequel, in theaters this summer.
The second trailer for Oz: The Great and Powerful has arrived, and now we know why Sam Raimi was chosen to direct this long-anticipated prequel to the classic The Wizard of Oz. If you weren't on board before, you surely will be after watching this latest footage, which offers a look at the film that is both very funny, and quite scary, as it should be. We get our first quick glimpse of the Wicked Witch of the West (who we're guessing is played by Mila Kunis, since she is nowhere else to be seen). And Raimi, the legendary horror director that he is, even pays homage to his classic The Evil Dead with a pair of Death Crows. if anything, this latest trailer proves that we're getting a true Sam Raimi film that isn't going to pander to children. Watch and marvel at the sights on display in Oz: The Great and Powerful!

Oz: The Great and Powerful was released March 8th, 2013 and stars James Franco, Mila Kunis, Rachel Weisz, Michelle Williams, Zach Braff, Bill Cobbs, Joey King, Tony Cox. The film is directed by Sam Raimi.

isnt going to pander to children- well this is disney and this looks like a tim burton studio fuelled released feature so i highly doubt that its goning to be nay-anything unique- sad to see Raimi be reduced to this though- wheres his horror roots gone to- after drag me to hell i exptected much, much, more.

@justatadmatt If i am not mistaken, there are two wicked witches in this movie, the wicked witch of the west and the wicked witch of the east and there is also the good witch, meaning the witch of the north.

@narrator This is based completely on the book not the original movie so that is why you may not know about this story. But I do agree about it looking a lot like Alice in Wonderland. And @justatadmatt the wicked witch is one of the other two witches but we don't know who.

This is blatantly ignoring everything I know about Oz and the Witches, but w/e. What I don't like is the overall style of the film. Alice in Wonderland much? That, and Franco looks half-assed as the lead. Not expecting much from this film, despite the grandiose effects and attractive cast.

Very confused because you see Mila Kunis and then have them talk about the wicked witch. Is there a separate witch from the three sisters?
