Ok. If you dont like the movies/franchise dont see it. Plain and simple. The movies try to to incorporate as much from the books as possible and are directed toward the fans.

Like Fallen has pointed out, if we are basing the movies off of money, then they are all considered to be successes. They all make money...a lot. No, the movies arent perfect, but they are still enjoyable.

hoisin...if you didnt give up after book number 4, im sure you wouldnt have been confused!!

Popularity is no guarantee of quality.

Half Blood Prince was a confusing mess. I gave up on the books after Goblet of Fire and am now ambivalent about the final film chapter(s).

And another thing...NONE of the kids in the films can act for sh*t.

  5. The Narrator: The Better Man

Worldwide New Moon is currently 75th place on all time records.

The lowest grossing Harry Potter film was The Prisoner of Azkaban, and it is 25th place for all time worldwide.

So if you go by money at the box office showing if a movie is good or not, over what people say, then your still wrong.

lol people are seeing it though newkill. ive read the books and hate the movies compared to them. however, i do still enjoy the movies. they obv cut sh*t out from the books and have to fit a lot in in a limited amount of time. the acting has gotten better and all the movies make well over the budget. looking forward to how they adapt the final book.

Not really looking forward to this one.I was disappointed in the HBP.Besides that I read the Deathly Hallows and became so bored with it that it took me three weeks just to read it.So this movie being split in two is uncalled for.I'll wait until this comes on HBO or something.

Money may not mean anything to you, or to the quality of the film, but if you're basing a movie's "success" on something other than monetary standards, you really need to specify. I think movies in general have taken a turn for the worse, with a few exceptions, but in the new market, they can still be successful in what they set out to do. Take "Where The Wild Things Are", a movie targeted solely at douchef*ck hipsters, and they ate it up. I don't think Jonze gave a sh*t what kids thought about it, just so long as the overgrown children in Williamsburg approved.

What happens when Avatar gets out, and all the hardcore movie lovers... love it. And word of mouth gets out that it's good and everyone else goes to see it to check out the hype.

You're right. There's a lot of hype for Avatar, but really only on the internet. Sad.

You know. I doubt even Avatar will break any records. Because it seems like only big movie lovers will go see that. A lot of mainstream audiences still don't know about that movie.

True...dammit. New Moon was a bad movie.

  19. Newkill3000

New Moon is at 233 mil. It's definitely going to hit the 300 mark, simply because it's really nothing to compete against this week.

  20. Avian

It's also the second highest grossing HARRY POTTER movie. And New Moon droped by over 70% over it's audience in one weekend, I don't think it'll get that high, but it might.

  21. Newkill3000

Yeah your right it was the second highest grossing film of 2009, but it had the biggest box office drop off for all Harry Potter movies. and the way New Moon is rolling it's going to be the third highest grossing movie.

  22. Avian

HBP is the second highest grossing Harry Potter film to date, and the acting has been getting better. I would say story, but DH is like a lame Bond film.
