And again, and no disrespect meant to Captain America fans here, I'll tell you that I won't, because there's nothing of the story shown by the two trailers that I've seen that compel me to actively seek out information about this character myself. Going to the movies is being spoon-fed entertainment first, this isn't a college class. I saw Southland Tales and it made me seek out the first three chapters in graphic novels because the film itself was entertaining, different and intriguing enough to make me want to know what I was missing. I'm not gonna look for further info on what looks like an uninspired story that can't even find a way to set itself apart from everything else. It could have been a 5-sec teaser trailer consisting only of the words "YOU PEOPLE GO FIND INFO ONLINE YOURSELF IF YOU WANT TO KNOW ABOUT OUR MOVIE" and it would have had the same effect.

@yannick-decorte You're asking questions again, so again I'll tell you that if you want answers on the character, do some of your own damn research. You're an adult, and therefore shouldn't need to be spoon fed information. Happy hunting :)

@ejk1: And to add to that, the fact that Captain America is strong and agile doesn't set this film apart from other comic-book films one bit. Pretty much every super-hero is strong, agile and courageous, so I ask again: what sets Captain America apart? That he has a shield? This trailer should have told me that and it didn't. I'll pass on this one despite Chris Evans and Sebastian Stan which I both like, and despite the fact that I like blockbusters and comic-book movies as much as the next guy. That should tell you there's something lacking about the trailers for this film, or about the film itself.

@ejk1: Not being a comic-book reader doesn't disqualify me from talking about whether this film will appeal to a broad audience. Of course you guys will go see the film, you're comic-book fans, so you don;t even need a trailer to tell you what you already know. For everybody else in the world who doesn't read comic-books, you need a trailer to tell you why you should be excited about something and this didn't do it for me. Like someone else as said, it does indeed look very dull and boring. I'm not talking about the movie itself which I'm sure will be a quality film, and very different in tone from Green Lantern, I'm taking about the trailers and promotion for those films. And you nailed it when you said if I want to know, I can type Captain America in Google. This trailer didn't make me want to know more about it, and that's not a good thing. Who in the worldwide audience that didn't read Captain America will say "Hey, this trailer didn't tell me the basics of what I should know so let's Google Captain America to find out what the trailer should have shown me?"

My opinion is it's a mediocre trailer for a film that looks very competently made but all over the place. And why did Chris Evan's character throw himself at the grenade when everybody was out of the explosion's reach? Sacrificing himself for no reason makes him look stupid on top of courageous.

@absolute Your thinking of Ultimate Avengers aren't you? Bucky and Cap's love interest hook up after he's frozen in that movie.

I hope when they thaw out cap we get to see him interacting with the now old Bucky and whatever that girls name is...would be a bittersweet moment.

The trailer was awesome, best one so far.

Thor and X-Men: First Class were great, the two best comic book movies of the summer so far.

I watched Green Lantern despite the negative reviews and I was disappointed by the film, everything was wrong and it feel like a spoofy movie than a serious movie like X-Men: First Class.

I hope Captain America: The First Avenger doesn't disappoint.

@thedude-abides true, you were correct about GL, but when you say "it's gonna suck" about every comic book movie, you're bound to get at least one right ;)

Yes, i agree, but at least for now we have images of him. Maybe there will be clips and tv spots for Captain America that will show even more of Red Skull, right before and right when Captain America The First Avenger is released to theaters.

I am just still not very impressed by this movie. We took our family to see Thor and thought it was merely a "good" film not a great one. We were disappointed. So far, these trailers haven't shown me very much. Most of what they have shown in this trailer has already been shown in the other. Not really that much that is new to even peak my interest. Marvel also hasn't tried to make this movie very exciting - it appears to come off very bland almost boring. I am not really a Chris Evans fan, but Marvel could have done more with his character to make him come off alot better. Maybe skip the cheesy and cheap jokes. I just can't get excited for this one.

To my credit, I am looking forward to this movie. I'm just not happy with some of what I've been seeing lately. And I've tried to refrain from tooting my own horn about this, but to be fair, was I not dead on about Green Lantern?

The electric guitar is annoying in this trailer. It's out of context with the time frame. I guess they are trying to connect to the genre, but it's unnecessary.
