Since ancient times, stories of epic battles and mystical legends have been passed through the generations across the rugged and mysterious Highlands of Scotland. In Brave, a new tale joins the lore when the courageous Merida (voice of Kelly Macdonald) confronts tradition, destiny and the fiercest of beasts. Merida is a skilled archer and impetuous daughter of King Fergus (voice of Billy Connolly) and Queen Elinor (voice of Emma Thompson). Determined to carve her own path in life, Merida defies an age-old custom sacred to the uproarious lords of the land: massive Lord MacGuffin (voice of Kevin McKidd), surly Lord Macintosh (voice of Craig Ferguson) and cantankerous Lord Dingwall (voice of Robbie Coltrane). Merida's actions inadvertently unleash chaos and fury in the kingdom, and when she turns to an eccentric old Wise Woman (voice of Julie Walters) for help, she is granted an ill-fated wish. The ensuing peril forces Merida to discover the meaning of true bravery in order to undo a beastly curse before it's too late.

Brave comes to theaters June 22nd, 2012 and stars Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly, Emma Thompson, Julie Walters, Kevin McKidd, Craig Ferguson, Robbie Coltrane. The film is directed by Brenda Chapman, Mark Andrews.

As for this trailer ... I was expecting a lot more. That class and charm, gone. Ah well. Disney owns Pixar now, so it's painfully clear who's making their trailers :P

@punkpryncess - give credit where it's due. Brenda Chapman. She invented the story. Pixar picked it up. Disney bought Pixar. That is all :P

FINALLY disney has the smarts to make a non "fairy tale" princess movie! A princess going against the rules & protocol. NICE! This looks really good.

Okay, I do think this looks a little too much like a Dreamworks movie, but the trailer might be greatly at fault for that (no trailer ever did a Pixar movie justice). I'm still keeping my hopes up, but I hope the film turns out more like the first trailer than the second one.

Looks good. And may I say that Cars 2 (at least for me) is not that bad as everyone says it is, to me Ratatouille is the weakest of the Pixar movies. I enjoyed Cars 2 more than Kung Fu Panda 2.

A little too much slapstick in the trailer for my liking (what is this, a Dreamworks movie?), but I love the concept and the animation is gorgeous. I'm excited for this.
