Sean Bean has signed on to star in Jupiter Ascending, joining a cast that already includes Channing Tatum, Mila Kunis, and Eddie Redmayne.

The story is set in a universe where humans are at the bottom of the evolutionary food chain, and one supreme leader rules all. The plot follows a young Earth woman (Mila Kunis) who is targeted for assassination by the Queen of the Universe, because she bears a striking similarity to the ruler. Channing Tatum plays the bounty hunter who is sent to kill the woman, but ends up falling for her in the process. Sean Bean is portraying Stringer, described as a "Han Solo-type character."

Andy Wachowski and Lana Wachowski are directing from their own original screenplay. When we reported in December that Eddie Redmayne joined the cast, it was believed that an early 2013 production start was being eyed, although an exact start date has not yet been confirmed.

Jupiter Ascending comes to theaters February 6th, 2015 and stars Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, Douglas Booth, Sean Bean, Eddie Redmayne, Vanessa Kirby, Terry Gilliam, James D'Arcy. The film is directed by Andy Wachowski, Lana Wachowski.

@XxNickTheFilmCriticXx same here and if youre going to make a movie out of a average/overused premise dont cast average actors as the too lead roles , cast actors with personnalities that will make us forget that were're being told the same storie a thousand time but with a different setting.

@TheObserver -- Channing Tatum is one of the most average actors out there, and the fact that he gets all these roles baffles me. Well, at least we don't have to worry about Taylor Kitsch anymore.
