Scrubs Heads to School in New Fall Season

Scrubs is set to go through a major transformation when it returns in the fall. According to The Ausiello Files, John C. McGinley's Dr. Cox and Donald Faison's Turk will leave the hospital to become med-school professors.

Bill Lawrence, the man behind the sitcom, stated, "It'll be a lot like Paper Chase as a comedy. It's going to be a different show. It'll still be life-and-death stakes, but if the show is just Scrubs again in the hospital with a different person's voiceover, it would be a disaster and people would be mad." The Sacred Heart hospital will still be part of the show, as new students will occasionally rotate through its halls. The cast will include a slew of new faces, most of them playing students, but Zach Braff, Sarah Chalke, Judy Reyes and Ken Jenkins have all agreed to return in some capacity.

Lawrence continued, saying, "Med students in their first three years have to spend anywhere from 10 to 50 percent of their time at a hospital. And that's when you'll see some of the [original cast members]. Continuity-wise, Sacred Heart will still exist with those people still working there."

Apparently, ABC is pressuring Lawrence to cast a known celebrity as one of the incoming freshman, "Half the cast, if not 60 percent of it will be comprised of freshmen, one of which will be more recognizable than the rest. ABC is really after us to hire a big name. So one of them will be fairly famous."

Scrubs is set to return to ABC in the fall.

I stopped watching the Simpson's and Family Guy, they are too much. I haven't seen an episode in over a year.
Two and a Half Men is just funny plus I'm a long time fan of Charlie's, I seen most of his films.

Yeah, this is stupid. Such an idea would have worked if the rating was 18, and if there would be a lot of f*cking between students and proffs. Just kidding, but i still think its a sh*tty move

I loved this show so much but this just sounds really f*cking stupid. You can't have a show that was based all around one guy and then end up having him do vanity cameos in his own show.

and mmm mmm , I think you're talking about 'Clone High'.

I have seen a handful of episodes, the humor is corny and dumb. But I do watch Family Guy, Simpson's, Two and a Half Men and a few others.
I can say for one thing though half of the comedies on TV do suck, I choose the right ones to watch.King of Queens is lame but good to watch, I can't stand Doug, I like the wife and her father.
Everyone Loves Raymund, Frazer, Cheers, and the Cosby show. There are more but I won't list them all.

I think he did take on teachers. I believe that it ran barely a season. I watched it... it was alright.

It can be funny but it just didn't grab me in the right way. So I passed.

You obviously have very poor taste. Not all the episodes are great and you probably caught one of those. Instead of watching other episodes, you rushed to the conclusion that the show "sucked donkey balls" and made that dumb ass comment. Congratulations

Guy below me has it right: the season finale was one of the most emotional episodes of not only the series, but on TV in general. It was the perfect ending, not only for JD, but the entire cast. End it. Lawrence is doing what he did with Spin City: instead of ending it when Michael J. Fox left, he replaced him with Charlie Sheen. Fox made cameos, but it wasn't the same. Leave it alone, Lawrence, and create a new show. He's tackled politicians and doctors. There's a lot of other possibilities. Spin City(even though he co-created it) and Scrubs were two of the best shows of their time, and I'm saying that because I consider Scrubs to be over. Maybe he can take on teachers. There's plenty of shows with students but not focus on the teachers. Or lawyers. Or cops. Just end Scrubs. Please.

If your going to all that trouble why not just come up with a new show and let Scrubs die with some dignity.
