CBF has a good point about the timeline factor. But with the AVP movies being so bad, it's better to go 'ostrich'; stick our head in the ground and pretend it never happened.

This Predator 3 sequel could have waited until they finished the Aliens vs. Predator timeline, I mean c'mon, AVP-3 needed to tell the time-lapse into 'Alien,' how they were able to clone Bishop, the final battle in space, and the Alien homeworld. Then 'Predator 3: Predators' could have continued the story after the fact.
What's up with AVP-3 ?????

This is too soon from the whole AVP crapfest! That being said a sequel IS a better idea than a Prequel or a REBOOT.

I have to take offense to the comment made by Lock Stock regarding how a poor movie such as Origins is the fault of the writer and not the director. The writer creates a movie concept, the director is in charge of interpreting that concept and presenting it in an enjoyable way. Saying the story is the fault of the writer and the "action" is the making of the director is not correct either. Origins was bad because it didn't do anything new, and unfortunately due to the large amount of back story provided in the previous movies and the comic book series there was very little room for interpretation from either the writers or the directing staff. Perhaps by rebooting Predator they will be bale to take a classic and bring it up to present.

Well...you can rename both AVP movies into Predator 3,4...Whatever. Becouse it doesn't mess with Predator timeline (only f*cks up the cool story), 1. Predator=dead, 2. Predator=dead (next please), AVP=Predator dead (all 3), AVP-R=dead! R.I.P. ......please....I want at least 1 Predator surviver.

Couldn't agree with you more Scott.
LOL LEO, that is the first thing i did, when i heard the screenwriters name. It's a habit, it allows to visualise a feel that the said person will bring to the table of the said production.

Sequel to what...Requiem? This is just another bad attempt to re-invent this franchise..Spend some money...take your time and do it right....stop rushing to make the quick buck...

Thank you, Newkill. I did what you said and looked him up...
And dear God, Predator deserves better than that. I'm gonna pray my hardest for this movie. But who knows? Maybe it can pull a Terminator Salvation on us: sound like crap the whole way through and when a trailer hits, it looks awesome.
Or at least I'm hoping that's what will happen...

Erm no...Not a sequel, notice the similarities between the story concept placed in this aritcle and that of the original Predator film.
The only 2 things that are missing, is that the soldiers mission hasn't been revealed yet, probably they have to save someone i guess, like the original predator film.
Now all they need to tell us that it will be set in the jungle

I trust someone like Len Wisemen to direct this. Not Gavin Hood!

Ok so what i've gathered from this so far....Is this film we suck the balls of an inglorious basterd on planet terror.
Seriously, Gavin Hood is a good director, but his story development techniques upon film are weak, unless this will be a full on action film which it sounds that way, then yeah go for him.
Wachowski's no way ho say.
I concur with Lock Stock on the whole screenwriter issue, but some scripts are dramatically altered from in production, but the point still stands.
This is not a sequel despite that it states so in the article, because, just look at the story concept. Sounds way too much like the first film, except it sounds like they may change the location, unless they decide to set it in the Jungle again.
Either way this sounds crap, as for the writer has no previous wriitng experience to credit his name.

i hope its not a remake of the first, sucha a classic. a reboot would be cool if they called it predator 3 or something just please do not remake the first
3 years agoby @svnupnoevenFlag
Lock and Stock
reboot normally redepicts the film with a diffrent cast for better reasons but will somehow keep aspects of the last story, remake literaly starts from a blank page.

Leo, my friend, this Alex Litvak is a nobody. If you go to imdb, it has his name but it's really nothing there. I have no idea why they would get that guy. And lock and stock, i'm sorry but Gavin Hood isn't gonna get his hands on my favorite movie franchise. Sh*t, let Gavin Hood do a decent Punisher movie, if he's so good.

NEWKILL blame it on the script and not the director, i believe origins was written by david benioff so take it out on him, even though the story was bad the action was good, good enough for a predator movie.
Tim burton did batman returns, it doesn't make him a bad director if all the other movies he makes are brilliant since they are written by good screen writers.

Yeah....sequel. It's the way to make it triology. (I allways expected Predator 3) Is it a good way....or bad one?...That is theme for discution.
