Variety reports that Screen Gems has bought the screenplay The Black Phantom. Directing will be Doug Aarniokoski. The property is a comedy from first-time writers Dave Lease and Megan Hinds.

Aarniokoski worked as a second unit director on Screen Gems Takers.

The script sees a double-crossed white mob hitman look for help from an African-American hitman known as The Black Phantom. The twist is that The Black Phantom wants to kill the man who needs his help.
